Anyone purchase a front load washing machine lately?

Picked up a whirlpool 4.4 cubic front load machine last Saturday. energy star rating. 659.00 from sears. I really didn't do a whole lot of research, simply went between sears and lowes and got the best price sears was cheaper. I'm not really all that into washers so bells and whistles didn't really factor into it. LOL. got 90 no interest financing.

We just replaced our washing machine and after much research decided against a front loader because of all of the issues with the gaskets and mold/mildew issues that seem to plague these models (do a google search).

We got an LG top loader 14 cycle high capacity HE washing machine and love it so far! It was cheaper than a front loader too.

Samsung 419 steel blue washer and dryer (both steam) LOVE them!!
We got them from Sears they did a fantastic job of installing them.
I've had them a month and have just about tried every cycle, I love the 30 min 'quick wash' and 'dry'. They are so quiet!! I'm still using the same small bottle HE Purex.

I'd wait till black Friday........or just check the deals.

We got a kenmore barely used still under warranty for $300. I love it is super quiet and it save me $5 a month on my water bill.

Go to your local post office and ask for a "change of address packet" and there should be a 10% off coupon from Lowe's in there. HTH!

I also just purchased the Whirlpool Front loaders they are duets, and I paid around $1100 for both. They are beautiful machines, electronic, and pretty darn cool, considering they are the cheapest of the duet models.

Eliza, what do you think about the wash times, they are awfully long aren't they, however the drying time for me was cut in half.

I would definitely recommend the Whirlpool machines, I also got them at Sears.

Ours is less than a year old, replaced Magtag top loader with Magtag front loader, best washer we have ever used, cleans better and with far less water, no mold problems ( let it air out )..

I bought the same model # in white in April. Love 'em! Replaced a bum front loading Maytag neptune washer(only 8 years old). I bought from Lowes, no problems. Look for rebates from your energy and water utility providers. I got both. I also got a Texas state energy rebate (took 6 hrs of calling/online to get). Every state has something similar, government $$. My rebates totaled over $900. Enough to "let" me get the matching dryer since I had to have the set. Good luck!

I love this washer. I've only had it a couple of weeks but I could kick myself for not having done this sooner. It is so quiet and does a great job cleaning the clothes. It has such a large capacity that I spend a lot less time doing laundry. The matching dryer is fantastic also. Well worth the money.
