Anyone out there work in a crime lab?

GG - I love Forensic Files as well as Medical Detectives. I wonder if you can buy seasons of them on DVD?

I am fascinated by the criminal mind, and these shows let a see a small glimpse of the machinations which lead to there downfall.

I have no interest in forensics or lab work, (I'm studying to be an elementary school teacher ), I just wanted to say that this thread is very interesting!

I have to admit, I don't watch either CSI very often, too much like a busman's holiday, and I end up yelling at the TV- not good.
The Forensic Files, New Detectives, etc are very realistic and accurate in the way they portray the science 'behind' the crime. I've been filmed for both the New Dectectives and the Forensic Files- non-speaking roles, but it was a lot of fun. Very disruptive of course, since we can't do any 'real' work while the cameras are in the lab, both to limit contamination and to protect the privacy of our victims, witnesses and suspects.

GG, if you are in the philly area, Philadelphia is hiring lab techs. Go to the official site www.phila.gov and look for the link to available jobs. Employees get tuition reimbursment, so you can go to school and work your way up if that is what you are interested in.
