Would love to her some reviews out there from you "disers" who own this camera??? I have narrowed it down to this one and the Kodak DX7590??? This camera however, is on the ny times top 10 digital camera list and I am getting to really like it the more I read about it and kinda wanted some opinions from you guys that have this camera???
TIA,
Kristy

2 different cameras you're looking at. For one, the kodak has a bigger optical zoom, so the size of the camera is also bigger than the A95. The canon uses regular AA batteries, while the kodak uses proprietary batteries - that's a consideration if you buy extra batteries, rechargeables are cheap while the proprietaries usually more expensive.

I personally would go for the A95 because I trust Canon more than Kodak, but if it's the zoom you're looking for, I would go with the Canon S1 IS. The Kodak, while it has a long zoom, it does not have image stabilization which is really important when you're maxing the zoom. Plus, I don't really like that the Kodak doesn't have a manual focus feature. That's just too important to leave out, IMO.

Here's a link to a side by side comparison between the 3 cameras:

We have the powershot A85, and LOVE it. It is a great camera, lots of feature, and very user friendly. The reason we got that one is that they had the same one at my workplace and due to the fact that it was easy to use (and highly recommend by a friend who sold cameras) we had to get one for ourselves.

I have a Canon A95 and like it a lot. I work with a several camera enthusiasts, and they all use Canon because it offers one of the best "bangs for the buck."

Here's a link to some pictures I took at Epcot back in April. The pictures have been resized but are otherwise unaltered.

We really like our Canon A95 alot. It takes great pictures and has a nice video feature. We take little 60 sec videos and still have lots of room on our 256mb card for more pics or more videos. But, definitely get rechargeable AA batteries for it. We got ours at Sam's Club, but I know they have them other places as well. But, it is nice to know if you are out somewhere and can't recharge your batteries (at the parks) you could just pick up any AA batteries.
