Anyone out there a home-based TA or know one?????

I have been throwing around the idea of becoming a home based travel agent and I would like some advice from those out there who are just that or know someone. I love to travel and I think with my vast knowledge of WDW and DL from past visits and of course the DIS boards would be beneficial. I have had friends tell me that they would use me to do their vacations...but honestly would they???

Im a home based TA.

My best advice is to search the Budget Board for the thread " Disney Travel Agent" or something like that. there are a few of us on this board and weve all chimed in at one point or another on that thread I think.

I'm one! I just started in May and have really enjoyed it, I've booked some small stuff and just booked my biggest thing today (three 5 bedroom rentals homes in Orlando). I stay at home with my boys anyway and this lets me do what I love and also make a little income. That's all I'm really looking for anyway. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

I am a home based agent. Got involved because we love to travel and have been to Disney ALOT. Also, have visited most of all the caribbean islands, etc.

I would love to just book Disney all day(something that I am VERY passionate about ... but find I end up booking maybe 1 in 10 to Disney. The rest are cruises, caribbean, Las Vegas, Europe.

Being a home based agent can vary depending on the company you work for.
My company, I work I can set my own hours, etc. However, I know a couple of home based agents that have specific work schedules given to them by their company.(they also get fielded phone calls, I don't)

Im a home based TA and when I first started it was only my family and friends who I was booking for. Word of mouth traveled fast and now I have more clients who are not family than are. One of the benefits I use to promote myself is that I work from home and if you need help while traveling you can reach me 24 hours a day. To some of my clients that is a huge bennefit. The company I work for lets me set my hours and work for who and when I want. Good Luck!

I am..........and am having a great time. I find it amazing at how different booking Disney World and Disneyland are....I mean, can you imagine buying Universal tickets through Disney World??!! Boy, was that a shocker. I am grateful that I am able to do something that I actually love...and get paid for it too! (and not to mention, they give me discounts too! )
