I've been eating the Atkins way since August of 2000. I lost 40 pounds in the first 9 months, and have maintained that pretty steadily. I now want to lose another 10-15, and I will be at my goal. My DH has also been eating this way with me, which is a huge help.
I was a major carb-aholic. But I no longer eat bread, potatoes, or sweets. Except for very special occasions, which I plan ahead of time, and give myself permission for. Then I go right back to the lo-carb approach!
