Anyone notice what we lost with new tickets!!

Let's start a poll.

Anyone want to contribute some actual dollar numbers for what it costed (sic)them to add non-expiration to their partially used passes, also telling us how many days and plusses were left?

Trip reports anyone?

Or did they mean that the "prorated non-expiration cost" referred to the posted schedule for non-expiration based on the original number of days?

About those unlimited short visits to Disney Quest -- that's one of the reasons I got an annual pass (premium). Although the only other pass sold by Disney that gave such unlimited visits was the length of stay pass, that pass was only available to on site resort guests.

Is there anywhere left to purchase the old hopper plus tickets from?

For anyone that liked the Length of Stay passes and are eligible for SOG, they are still selling the Stars and Stripes passes (which work just like the Length of Stay passes). If you know anyone that can get them for you, eligible people are allowed to buy them for family and friends. We have APs but thought about getting them for my in-laws, so we checked with the SOG ticket office and they said we could.

Not unless you find someone willing to sell you their tickets if they bought those themselves.

Somehow I don't think the old hopper passes have an advantage over the new MYW passes, other than finding a store trying to get rid of old stock including Disney merchandise and tickets at a tremendous closeout discount. Old hopper (-plus) passes too have just a small finite number of plus visits.

Also, if you need more days than the hopper pass had originally, you would end up converting it to MYW and then adding days. (You could buy a separate new pass to finish your vaction but that method would be much more expensive)

I love the new tickets. We pay for the options that we want and don't have to pay for things we won't use. It's saving us a lot of $$

We will also miss the UPH. I bought extra DQ tickets through Ticketmania for the extra days that DH and DS will be going there. What I should have done though was buy a 10 day MYW ticket with no options and an AP for Quest...it would have been cheaper and next time that's what I will do. Through Ticketmania though I only spent $10 more that way. Through the mousesavers link I bought DQ tickets for $21. The 5 options for DD and I would be enough, but not for the boys. I haven't priced out the AP combo for the waterparks and DQ as they usually only go to the water park maybe once but Quest they hit almost everyday.

Maybe, if Disney got enough feedback, LOS could be offered as a MYW opton.

I wish they would offer a different number of options to add...that would be neat, but probably too complicated.

I think the new tickets have advantages and disadvantage;

Personally they seem to make more work for me. I have to decide how long; if we are gonna hop; will we use the whole thing. I liked the length of stay it was easier decision making; plus i got a great deal last time and it doesn't seem as if there are great deals to be had now because of the new ticketing system.

Plus now we can only visit a park if we no we are doing it the whole day because who wants to use up a day for a few hours. Ex; the day we arrive we are gonna skip the parks because we don't want to waste a day; when in the past we've not had to do that.

OTOH; it is cheaper and has made it easier for some families to visit because they don't have to spend a fortune on options they won't use. So that is definately a benefit.

We really like the new tickets, we were just there in early March with 3 families all with different interests, finances and children's ages. With the new tickets we were able to customize each family's tickets to best suit them. Our family got PAP's since we are DVC (discount) and we go several times in a year then skip a year. The family with teenage kids bought base plus hopper w/exp, and the family with little kids bought base plus hopper and 2 of the tickets w/pluses w/exp. I calculated it several ways before the end of the year to see what was cheaper and it was always cheaper with the new tickets. Granted it took a little while to get use to it.

I paid the full $100+tax to add non-expiry on dh's ticket, after we spent 7 of the 10 days at the parks.

I think it depend on how long you are staying. If you are staying more than 5 days the extra cost to add a day is almost nothing and its a great deal. On the other hand if you are going for less than 5 days it seems like you are being penalized.

We are going for 7 days staying on site and it works out great for us. My brother is joining us for just 2 days and he will pay a much higher cost per day that we will. The new plan seems designed to reward those that do a continous stay of more than 5 days.

No, the pluses are limited...just as the park hopper plus from the past had limited visits. The only ones that offered unlimited plus visits were the Ultimate Park Hoppers (aka, Length of Stay). I believe for a 6 day ticket with plus options, you get 5 plus visits.

The correct breakdown for the amount of plusses you get for the amount of days on your base ticket when adding the MPP option is:
1-3 days base = 2 MPP
4-5 days base = 3 MPP
6 day base = 4 MPP
7-10 day base = 5 MPP

You could simply go to Guest Services and ask them to do a no-expiration for however many days you have left and they will do it for you. Many of our guests complained about the no expiration thing in the past because they knew they would definitely use some of the days, so they thought Disney was charging them for something they wouldn't need...at least not for all of the days. Don't ask, they seriously thought Disney was doing this...and this was a good amount of our guests. We ALWAYS suggest to our guests now to not get no expiration ahead of time because you know for a fact that you'll be hitting the parks at least one day while you're on your trip so there's no point in paying for a no expiration on a day you'll be using up. So we always tell our guests to wait until the end of the trip and then go to Guest Services to have them to a no expiration on the days they have left. You won't pay as much as you would if you did no expiration all up front.

The No Expiration is based on the amount of days you originally purchased on your ticket, except if you add more days, then it is based on that amount of days.

2-3 days base= $10
4 day base = $15
5 day base= $35
6 day base = $45
7 day base = $55
10 day base = $100

Have never seen the prices for the 8 and 9 day base to add no expiration.

Hope this helps clear things up.

8 and 9 day non-expiration cost the same as the 10; $100. ($107 incl. tax).

So if you are thinking of adding non-expiration to an 8 or 9 day pass, seriously consider adding the 10'th and/or 9'th day for about $4. apiece, on the spot.

There it is!!!!
That was what Disney was trying to achieve!! and they did!

I really like the new tickets because it really worked out cheaper for us.
We used to buy APs because we stayed usually 8 to 11 days.
And would try for a second trip....but it didn't always work out.
Now the MYW 10 day tickets are much cheaper!
We don't do the water parks, and only DD and DH will do DQ once during a trip.

But even if we make a short trip, like 5 days.....I will buy the 10 day and add on the non-expire option. And I figured it out... it still is cheaper....and then we will have the other 5 days....
Now....I am wondering if when we return for the next trip if we can still add more days??!! Probably not.

Anyway it think they work out better for the majority....and sorry but the OP and others like them are in the minority.
I guess they can't make it work for absolutely everyone. :)
