DS has never gone TOT'ing in our neighborhood. When he was 1 and 2 years old, I took him to my parent's neighborhood to visit all of my old neighbors. The year we moved into our current home (we were moving on Halloween), my mom took him and went with my sister and her kids, and for the past 3 years, we have gone with my sister and her kids, out where she lives.

Does anyone else not stay in their neighborhood?

We have never ToT'd in our own neighborhood--we always go to my in-law's house. They still know most of their neighbors so we feel safer. Although after our experience last night, I doubt we will do that any more, either. It has become very common for people to drive in and drop off their kids on my in-laws' street so it was a little more chaotic than I like last night. We also got run over by unsupervised kids and actually had some kids jump over some bushes and push my kids out of the way at one house..........

We don't but then again our development is all older residents that don't have children and don't have candy for the kids. So we go to a friends development where there are children.

I have always gone elsewhere. When I was a single mom, I took DS to ToT at my grandma's neighborhood, and now we go to my IL's meighborhood.

I live in an apartment, so the ToT really isn't very good here. I figure since Gma and IL's give out candy, it is OK to ToT there.

DD went TOT with a friend in the friend's neighborhood. There aren't many kids in ours and the houses are fairly far apart. There might be 3 house in a row without lights on. The neighborhood they went to has houses close together.

We always tot in our neighborhood but then again so does everyone else! We have tons of treaters. It was a light year here tough last night...i think we had close to 200 kids.

After we go in our neighborhood we then drive to other house such as old teacher, relatives and people who want to see the kids in their costumes.

When I was young we trick or treated all over town. We'd drive to each house, always the houses where we knew the people. As I got older (late elementary school) we began trick or treating with my mom's friend's kids, in their neighborhood, and sometimes my cousins, in the neighborhood where they had a bunch of friends. Then we'd just walk around the neighborhood. Our "neighborhood" really isn't a typical neighborhood and isn't really suited for trick or treating.
