Anyone NOT suggest staying at two resorts?

Hello helpful resort people!
I had posted a thread awhile ago trying to decide between WL and AKL, and several people suggested staying at both. It sounds like a great idea, but I'm wondering if anyone has ever done this and wished they hadn't. I'm one of those anal people who can't relax at a hotel until everything has been unpacked, so I'm a little worried I'll spend the whole time fretting about packing/unpacking. (I know, I obviously have some issues! ) Does anyone have any horror stories or am I just looking for things to worry about?

I'm not sure how long you are staying, but I'm one who wouldn't consider staying at two resorts unless it is an extended vacation. We are doing a split stay between the Wilderness Lodge and the Boardwalk Inn in December, but we are staying six nights at each. I wouldn't do it if I couldn't stay at least five nights in each place. Like you, I like to really unpack and settle in. We really enjoy getting to know our resort and soaking up all it has to offer. We like to experience all the restaurants, all the recreation options, all the little details, etc. If we only stayed a few nights in each place, I wouldn't really feel like I got to experience either to the fullest. That's just my opinion, though.

We split a 6 night stay this past New Years for the sake the most economical room rates. We stayed 2 nights at Dolphin and 4 nights at WL (got nurse rate at the Dolphin for New Years and then moved to WL and it was value season). I wouldn't do it again unless it was going to save me a bunch of money. I didn't particularly like switching resorts.

I'm just like you. I have not tried splitting stays yet and I don't think it's for me. Like the above poster said, I'd only do it if I could stay 5 or 6 nights at each resort. I like picking one resort and saving the others for another time. That makes more for me to look forward to. The people who do resort hop seem to enjoy it. I'm just not a person who would.:D

I like switching resorts, but it doesn't sound like I would if I were you. We don't really unpack at all. We leave our stuff in our suitcases the whole time. Even in the morning after I'm done putting on my makeup, I put it all back in my makeup bag. I can't stand having stuff around. It makes me feel like I'll forget something when we leave. But if I had to get everything out, I wouldn't be looking forward to gathering it all back up again, either.

Time is such a precious commodity at WDW, so I can't see spending the time to switch unless I had a couple of weeks on site.

Thanks everyone!
I have read so much from people who enjoy switching resorts, and I had begun to think I was the only person who actually unpacked their suitcase on vacation! While I think it would be fun to stay at two places, I know its really just not for me. I think I'd rather just make one place home, and look forward to staying somewhere else next time. It's nice to know there are others that feel that way too!:D

I would not do this unless handling your own luggage. We changed rooms in a deluxe resort and our luggage was lost. It seems it went to the luggage room and someone else's was put on top of ours covering our name tag and it was hours until they unearthed it. There I was waiting for my nightie. Could not even go to bed as they would be knocking on my door any minute.......Hubby finally went with them into the luggage room and found it...........What a pain it was.........

We wouldn't do it either, we like to unpack and spread out around the room. Plus one check-in and worrying about getting the room we want is enough hassle.
