Anyone not like Dole Whips???

Is it me or are Dole Whips totally over hyped??? Years back I saw the stand at MK for them after reading its praises on the disboards and rushed over to get a few for my husband and I. We were like "it's OK" but I just didn't get the fascination. Maybe if I hadn't eaten in a month, they would of tasted better but they weren't really that fantastic. Did I order the wrong thing?

Another one here! It's basically soft serve ice cream---where's the wow in that??? But glad to see I'm not the only one....

I like them... But they are very overrated...

Disney has many things that get rave reviews and shouldn't...

Le cellier is the poster child for that...but there are many others.

i got a dole whip float and i enjoyed drinking the pineapple juice more than eating the actual dole whip.

besides if i want it all i have to do is go to the hospital where my mom was an RN for 40 years and head to the cafeteria.

Don't love the dole whip on it's own, but put it in some pineapple juice and I'm in love!

I don't like them much - way too sweet for me. DH LOVES them and has to get them every trip and even has a Dole Whip t-shirt that he loves. When he gets his (swirl with pineapple juice), I get a vanilla with Diet Coke which I actually really like.

Dole Whip is not an ice cream product. It's dry mix concoction with thickeners meant to imitate ice cream. Just add liquid and chill. Yum!
NOT!

I save myself for gelato or real ice cream.

I've only had one once, and it was ok, but it's not something I have to have. I do think they are a little overhyped! And like the above post says, I wouldn't wait in line for it.

I got one on our honeymoon 6 years ago, before I found the Disboards, and I did not like it...at all. Went last year and got another one to see if the influence of the boards would convince me I had been wrong...Nope still blagh!

I really like them but not nearly as much as the frozen pineapple soft serve with coconut rum added. Had them from Pineapple Promenade at the F & G and from Tamu Tamu refreshments. I couldn't stop eating them!

The dole whip with coconut rum from AK was amazing. The regular dole whip was pretty good, but probably not worth an hour long line.

Menchie's down the street from us carries Dole Whip ("Dole pineapple soft serve") and I get it, swirled with vanilla, and then add coconut flakes, white chocolate chips, and a few maraschino cherries. Life changing. It's a very occasional treat, lol.

I think I like the idea of Dole Whips more than I love the actual Dole Whips, if that makes sense. When I'm in line to get one, I'm all, "" and then while I'm actually eating it, I'm like "Hmm... this is okay, I guess". Like, I keep trying to hype myself up before I eat one, but in reality it's just a nice pineapple soft serve that I eat once in a while.

It is definitely hyped up way too much, tried pineapple Dole Whip once and won't be getting it again anytime soon. I'd like to try the Vanilla Dole Whip but until then give me some Ben & Jerry's.

DD and I tried it with pineapple & we both have an incredible sweet tooth, but . We couldn't even finish it between the two of us it was so sweet & the fake pineapple taste, just yuck. Now the scooped icecream we had (several times ) at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor... .
