has anyone bought anything on zulily and not gotten what they thought they were getting? i have only made two purchases. one was for a home item in the winter, it was something i really wanted and had not seen anywhere else so i spent the $15 on it. it was fine and came as described. a few weeks ago i bought a clothing item. i got it and was more than disappointed.

i had been wary to buy clothes with the no return policy but i checked the brands website and size chart. i waited two weeks for the order to even ship. i got it and found my two piece set was one item. i called in and the rep said that he had several calls about the item. the pictured showed two pieces, the description said the bottom was attached. the little bullet points only gave the material for the top, so he was like oh yeah there it is, but since its "convoluted" i will give you a refund and a $10 credit. (i offered to return it but they don't take returns). ok well since i paid shipping the credit is really just another refund but i took it. well i try it on and find the item i did get doesn't even fit, it is cut like two sizes too big.:confused3

i have noticed their prices are higher than they should be on some items (like two items i saw recently i got for half the price elsewhere) and think even with the credit i am done with them. has anyone else had this type of issue?

Yeah you gotta do your research on the item. Because it maybe cheaper on amazon or another site. You also have to be willing to wait for it. I get annoyed with them a lot. They do have cute things but I hate waiting a month for it. Also I find their clothes run smaller than other stores. The no return sucks. I just keep that in mind when buying clothes. I know I have to be willing to "lose" that money.

I only buy from them if I don't need the item right away. One time it took close to two months for me to get my items. I bought my daughter clothes and she only got to wear them a couple of times that summer then out grew them by the next summer. If their shipping times wasn't so bad then I would buy more often. Sometimes I feel like the price vs quality is good but then other times I think it wasnt worth it so I am very selective now on certain things. I just purchased some shoes for my daughter hopefully they will get here before her feet out grow them:rotfl:

I generally find that with them, if the price is really good the item is usually not good quality. The only thing I buy there anymore is brands that I know.

Their shipping is so slow because it's a multi step process. We place an order with zulily, zulily places the order with the manufacturer once the sale closes on their site, the manufacturer ships to zulily and then zulily ships to the buyer.

I have only ordered twice, both for brands I know. The first was during one of their TOMS sale, and recently for Jim Shore. I knew I was getting a good price for what I was purchasing.

The TOMS came about 1.5 weeks after order and I am still waiting for my Jim Shore. I don't think I would order clothes even for the kids not knowing sizing and having to wait so long. Also I noticed some things the prices aren't that competitive I would rather spend an extra $5 and get it quick and know I can return it.

I'm very hit and miss with them. I have purchased several things that were as described and arrived just fine. Last Fall, I bought a jacket for DD 4 that was literally falling apart when I took it out of the package. Just yesterday, I got an Elsa t-shirt that I bought a couple of weeks ago. The one I received doesn't look anything like the one I ordered. I just contacted them to see what happened.

Their customer service is usually pretty good. When I contacted them about the jacket, they refunded my money and added a $10 credit to my account since they no longer had it in stock. We'll see what they say about the t-shirt?

.

This, I also double check and compare prices with Amazon and I only order if there are at least 3 things I want since shipping is often about $8 (I hate paying shipping since you can find free ship codes for almost every other site).I won't order any clothes/shoes for myself because even brands I know don't always fit.

I have purchased from them a few times.

First time I bought nursing bras, they were awful. I hated them, but I thought that was more because of the maker of the bras. They took forever to arrive. I actually was worried that I imagined ordering from there since it does not have a way to track your package.

Second was for a personalized onesie. It turned out great, I love it and I couldn't be more happy with it. I expected it to take longer to arrive since it was personalized. It took about three weeks.

Mickey Mouse wet bag. I haven't used it yet but looks like it did online, and has held up so far. This was the quickest item to receive. In about two weeks it was at the door. I was actually surprised.

A voucher which was awesome because I didn't have to wait for delivery. Using the voucher was easy and hassle free.

The last thing was an outfit from the Tea Company. I saw a shirt on Gilt for my older daughter and ordered it. A week later a romper in the same fabric was on Zuilly so I ordered it. The Zuilly order arrived first. It still took about a month for it to come in.

Things seem to be hit or miss with delivery. I hate paying for shipping when it takes so long to arrive. I certainly wouldn't order for birthdays or anything needed on a time line though.

Last summer I bought size 10 shorts for my daughter. They were waaaay too small so I packed them away for other dd. I just got them out last week and they were too small for my size 7 girl! I would much rather hit tj maxx and know what I'm getting.

My dd loves Bear Paws better than Uggs. Got a great deal on 2 pr boots last July and I hid them and gave them to her for Christmas. One pair of boots was a discontinued style that I'd never seen anywhere else. Well she wore them once and the stitching gave way and I paid $10 to have it fixed. The other pair I had seen around on other people but after a month of wearing they too started splitting a seam. I haven't taken them to my cobbler to see if they can be fixed as the warmer weather came.

I've ordered stuff like infinity scarves and been pleased. I would worry about other articles of clothing. It sounds like their customer service is good- I should have tried to go through them but I thought a final sale is final- right.

i am actually glad to hear that other people had a bad experience, so i know im not the only one who got burned by them. the customer service guy was rather nice but it doesn't fix the fact they are sending out stuff that is not as advertised at all.:goodvibes i think i too would rather shop at tjmaxx or marshalls but i don't always have the time.

i think what they are doing wasn't a bad idea, but with these sorts of complications if they don't work them out i see them going under.

I have not purchased clothing, only toys. Shipping was slow but I was very happy with the transaction.

I've ordered probably close to 50-60 items from there. A few have been misses, but most have been great. I think the biggest thing is knowing their shipping practices and planning accordingly, and also shopping brands you know and trust. I've also price shopped the items before I buy so sometimes find them cheaper or same price but with free-shipping elsewhere.
My newest addiction is haugelook.com AND you can return those items :)

This is exactly the process for Zulily. I worked for a warehousing company for a couple years and we shipped to ZL regularly. Our client would set up a promo with ZL, then the orders would come in thru the ZL site, then at the end of the sale (2 weeks or whatever time limit they set) we would get the order from our client, we had 3 days to ship it (and they were not small orders lol), once ZL received the product they ship to their customers. It's a process but it should be exactly the same product you'd get buying direct.

I'll only place Zulily orders if they're featuring a brand that I know. When I first started shopping on their site I ordered a bunch of summer tops for myself and their quality was pitiful. A size small was either way too big or way too small, the materials were cheap, and there was nothing I could do because of the no return policy. Shipping is a hassle too though I understand the multistep process they go through to get the items to their customers. I ordered a dress for DD 7 weeks ago and it arrived today. On the other hand, 3 weeks ago I ordered a Vera Bradley wallet and had it 4 days later.

I've gotten some great deals from them, and overall I'm happy with zulily. I am careful not to order items like shoes that I have no way of knowing about fit-wise, as my feet are quite wide. I've gotten some good buys on lesportsaq Disney bags, Sanuks, and things of that sort. I've also taken a chance on inexpensive clothes that look really cute and for the most part I've been lucky.

On my last order, I received a black jeweled top in an XL (I'm a S and don't wear jeweled tops) along with the items I had ordered. I called them and said that they'd sent me someone else's shirt, and the woman just laughed and told me to keep it. I feel sorry for the person who ordered it and is likely still waiting for it to show up.

I ordered a really nice pair of burgundy leather Clark shoes in Feb. I waited, and waited, and waited and even though I know their shipping can take a while, this went on for about 2 1/2 months. Then, I got an email from zulily saying that they'd cancelled my order and refunded my money to paypal. I was pretty miffed about it but then I got another email with a $10 credit so I felt better but now I'm wondering how secure my order might be on a popular item.

Unfortunately this can also be an issue, if we told our client we had 124 pair of the specific shoe they were going to offer on Zulily and our inventory was off then when/if ZL sold all the shoes we had "available" we would have to short ship and then they weren't able to fill all the orders they had, that resulted in charges for us so we tried really hard to make sure we knew exactly how many we had on hand.

I frequently buy from them. I have had a few issues with things that didn't fit well but they were so cheap I didn't care too much. I find a lot of outfits there you can't get anywhere else. I also liked that they used to have 10 points per dollar on MyPoints, which has since changed.

I have also had it happen NUMEROUS times where they didn't have the thing I ordered so they give me the $10. Then they give me $10 every anniversary. Awhile ago they mailed me the TOTALLY wrong order, and when I emailed them about it, they told me I could keep it. Recently they had a sale on Frozen stuff and with all my $10 credits, I got a bunch of stuff for free.

So while it stinks they don't accept returns and it takes awhile to get the stuff, as long as you're aware of that fact before you go into and are careful about what you're buying, their customer service is actually quite good.

I've ordered many items from zulily. I've had a couple issues with them but overall have had good experiences. I usually purchase name brand items I'm familiar with. Shipping does take forever unless the item is being shipped directly from the seller (i.e. I had a KidKraft item arrive in only 2 days after purchase). I have also had an order cancelled on me on an item I really, really wanted. I was highly disappointed after waiting almost 3 months to receive an email stating I wouldn't be receiving it. They did give me a $10 credit.

I always compare the price of the item on the seller's site or amazon before purchase. I did purchase a pair of Sorel boots that ended up being cheaper and had free shipping on the Sorel site vs. purchasing them through zulily at the time.
