We will be at WDW Dec 19-26, so we overlap the last two parties. I keep waffling btwn going or not to MVMCP. We had a not great experience at MNSSHP late Aug...rain and crowds threw us. Wondering if anyone else stuck on this decision.

We will be there the 16th through 23rd and aren’t doing the party. But moreso because it is our first time at the parks and I know we will be overwhelmed as it is!

It's not as big a deal since you'll be there when the parade will run during regular business hours.

I would only do the party if you're into meeting the unique characters.

We will be there the week of Veteran's Day when there are FOUR MVMCP during the seven nights we are there, and we aren't going because we are trying to do a super budget trip. Sigh. :(

Those last two parties will probably sell out, so if crowds messed up your experience last time, I'd quit waffling and just maximize your time at the parks without the party.

We're going Dec 18-22. Out of those 5 days, 3 of them were party days. After a lot of hemming and hawing, we decided not to go as our kids are 5 & 2 years old and we knew they would be sleeping instead.

We moved our first MK date to being a non-MVMCP date so we could see HEA, but then that moved our AK date to 60+1, which consequently cost us FPs to FoP. sigh...

But I think this is the right decision for us as a family, & I know the kids will have a magical times, especially as it's their first time at WDW!

We won’t be going to a party either. We went to MNSSHP several years back and it wasn’t that great (to us) so we won’t be doing a Christmas party. I just don’t feel the cost is worth it for us.

We are going Nov 8-14, so during the first parties. We are skipping the party and doing more "adult" things, Jellyrolls, Celebration at the top, highway in the sky, Abracadabar. We went one year and were surprised by the long lines for meet n greets.

Also not going during our 8 day Dec trip. We're not late night people and I also think it's too expensive for what you get.
I agree! When looking at the cost for it and looking at the odds of my kids being tired and cranky, and hearing how the waits to meet characters were long, it just didn't seem worth it, especially when we were already paying so much money for the park tickets, resort, dining plan, flights, etc. I do think that when they have party nights, the day tickets to MK should be slightly cheaper since we're force to leave the park a good 2-3 hours earlier than regular hours. But I know that's not going to happen! :)

We are going the week after Thanksgiving with our 3yo. The cost is too great to take a gamble that my DD will stay up that late. Maybe in a few years?

Nope. I vowed NEVER AGAIN and I mean it. I have never seen such crowds and been so miserable at a Disney event. For some inexplicable reason, the Halloween party does not seem that bad, the Christmas one though.....ugh.

11/27-12/7 for me and we are not going. You are not alone.

Probably not. We had a great time the last time we went but I hear the crowds have increased now. We are there the 17th through the 24th, and think the $ it costs for the party is better put toward a couple of days at Universal.

Nope, not going. Will be there for both Thanksgiving and Xmas/NYE. Has nothing to do with crowds, I couldn't care less about that. It's all about money. No way, no how would I spend that kind of money to be in the same park I'm already allowed to be in with my regular ticket.

Tell me, is it the same parade through the day as you see at the party? Would be great if it was. We are going to the party on December 3rd- only because it's my daughter's 16th birthday and we got the tickets free on rewards points. Otherwise, we'd never spend that on a one evening event. If the parade is the same, we can skip that at the party and do up the rides with the shorter lines (fingers crossed). We have no interest in characters except to point and say "hey, there's ...."
