Anyone not get pedestals for their front loaders? I have pedestals for a set of kenmore front loaders. Mine are 3 years old and I'm getting a new set of frontloaders. (Don't ask, but the kenmore frontloaders have been nothing but trouble w/ several control boards and purchasing warrenties every year to cover the repairs so I've had it) Just bought another brand for a great price yesterday but couldn't justify the 200$ per pedestal extra. I don't think mine will fit the new LG's I'm trying. Please tell me some of you don't have pedestals. I know I'm spoiled not having to bend down with the pedestals I currently have but for 400$ - I'm thinking I'll suffer through it.

I do not have mine on pedastals. I wanted to be able to fold right on top of them and with the pedastals they would have been too high. Honestly I love not having the pedastals.

I also chose not to purchase the pedestals. I wanted to enjoy the view out my laundry room window and it would have been blocked.

I don't have the pedestal either. It doesn't bother me to have to bend down to load/unload. I didn't want to spend the extra money

We don't have pedestals...It was a little bit of a pain when I was pregnant, but besides that I like being able to put things on top (clothes and such). Unless you have trouble with your back or knees you should be fine.

I am fairly tall, and when we had the front loader it was on the floor and I had not problem.

However, I did not like the front loader itself, and now have the traditional top loader. The smell was driving me crazy, and I could not get rid of it. Something was behind that smell, and I could not locate it. Cleaning the seal did not get rid of it, neither did leaving the door open. Something that cleans my clothes should not smell that was.

Sorry, that was in no way related to your questions. :sad1:

We were talked out of the pedestals by the salesman at Lowes, believe it or not. He said that the space in them didn't hold big containers of detergent, and that he ended up using his as the "missing sock" drawer. His suggested if we really wanted the height was to build a wooden pedestal for both to sit on. Of course, my husband intended to do that, but didn't. But I don't mind, as we tend to store things on top.

I don't have pedestals, and while I wouldn't mind one for the washer, it's not *that* bad. I actually have a cushy little mat in front of the washer, and kneel down on that to transfer the loads so I don't have to bend down. :thumbsup2

We do not have them. We would have only had about 2 inches clearance with the upper laundry room cabinets. If you do not want the storage on the bottom there is no reason you cannot build them out of wood. We might do this in the future to get the height we need.

We don't have them either. I thought they were ridiculously expensive and no real storage. While it would be nice to have them higher, it doesn't really bother me. I just can't see them being worth that price!

I didn't buy the pedestals. I bought my front loaders when they first came out, and I thought they were joking when they suggested I buy something to sit my washer & dryer on. No way was I spending money on that! :rotfl:

I usually sit down on the laundry room floor to fill and empty the front loaders. That way I don't have to bend at all. ;) And it's free.

when my sister bought her frontloaders, she skipped the peds and bought the top 'counter' peice (she got on clearance), its much more convienant and keeps items like socks from falling behind the machines or between the gap besides the machines. a better investment if you ask me.

when we upgrade to frontloaders i plan on not getting the peds either. as it was stated, they arent truly designed for detergents/bleach bottle storage...just other misc type storage. our laundry room has a window on the wall the machines would be up against, so i would hate to block that, not to mention i like the 'counter' option on top of the machines so i can fold the clothes right then and there...

now, some companies are offering peds that i believe you fill with detergent and bleach, etc. and it automatically dispensnes it for you each load. nice feature, but i think i can fill the despensers myself each time...i would imagine that would be a more expensive option than just the plain 'storage' peds

we didn't get pedestals for our front load and I'm SO glad we didn't . it would have been too high to be able to fold clothes on top. I like having the extra workspace. plus, we've got cabinets above our washer dyer. so I know I would never actually use the drawer in the pedestal, so we decided it would be a waster of $400 - 500. money better spent elsewhere!! :)

another NO here...i couldnt justify spending the extra money on them...and while i love my lg tromm, and while they may have been nice, i am still more than ok with not having them 2 years later :cool1:

No pedestal here either...in fact I forgot that I don't even have them until I read this thread!! :lmao:

i'm old and fat and i have no problem with not having pedestals (they come with PEDESTALS????)...i like having the top for holding detergent and folded laundry til it's put away. I wouldn't spend the money on them.

Pedestals, huh??:confused3

From my DH who spends WAY too much time putting these on and off front loaders at Lowes they are waste of money and metal.

I would rather build my own stand out of wood(carpenter here) In the end I think I am going to stack mine instead. Then install a counter/steel wash basin so I can have counter space/storage underneath.

I would agree with the majority and say the optional matching pedestals are overpriced, as well as poorly built.
