Just curious. I don't really know what I'd be bringing to a waterpark that needed to go in a locker anyhow, but from what I've read, everyone seems to get one. Am I missing something?

We always get one locker for the 2 of us to keep our street clothes, shoes, wallets, etc. in. (We don't relish the thought of riding a bus back to our resort in wet swimsuits... )

We go to the waterparks once or twice per trip. We have never bothered to get a locker, we don't want to have to keep up with it-running back and forth. I carry a small clear backpack with a disposable water camera, sunscreen and some snacks. We leave it along with our shorts (with our room keys) and towels on a chair. We have never had a problem with theft, and I have never even noticed anyone walking around looking into other people's stuff. Oddly ( I am odd... ), I also take along a bicycle lock and run it through the handle of my refillable mug for the park attaching it to the chair, along with the backpack. That to me would be an easy thing for someone to lean over and take without much conscience.

We didn't get a locker last time and I'll outline our strategy for you...

We went to the park wearing our bathing suits under our clothes (just wearing t-shirt, jeans and sandals). We took a small bag with only sunscreen, sunglasses, change of undies, and our KTTW (with water park fun and more option, so also our BB entrance ticket). When we got there we rented a towel each (they were either $1 or $2 dollars for the day, can't remember). We staked out an empty chair, put the towels in our bag, and placed the bag on the chair. Threw our clothes/sandals in the bag, grabbed our KTTW cards (put them in Velcro pocket of guy's swim trunks, though you can also buy card holders to put around your neck) and ran off to play. We occasionally came back to check on the bag/sit down/re-sunscreen up. It was not busy at all that day ,practically empty due to cold weather, so I didn't feel bad about holding the chair while we were in the water - and there was absolutely nothing in there I cared about being stolen or lost so it didn't bother me to leave it out in the open. When we were done we went into the changing rooms, changed into the dry clothes, dropped our towels at the front and left! Food and drinks were purchased using the KTTW so no need for cash or credit cards.

There you go... the long-winded version! Hope the ideas might help you.

Oh, also, at the end of some of the slides they take pictures of you which you can buy at the end of the day so if you didn't want to carry a camera you could still get some pics... although, I don't really WANT a picture of myself in a bathing suit soaking wet... but that's just me!!

The only place we ever drive our own car to at WDW is the water parks. It is just seems way easier than the bus since we get there are soon as it opens. So, we use to the locker to keep my husband's wallet and car keys.

Ohhh... I like the idea of the bicycle lock for the refillable mug and the bag. We'll be spending 3 full days in the waterparks over the memorial day weekend, so this would make sense more than a locker. We plan to take a few pictures so I think I'll just go to the rental car, get the camera, take a few pictures and return it promptly. No need for the locker...

Thanks for the idea!!

:thumbsup2

Nope, I never get a locker. I just keep all my stuff in a beach bag on my chair. I wouldn't want to keep going back and forth to the lockers(they are far). I don't bring anything valuable, only a enough money for food. I have never had a problem with theft.

thanks for all the great responses. it makes me feel better, since i was not planning on getting a locker and was starting to feel like i *should*!!!

i think all i have to do now is find some kind of waterproof thing to hold our tickets, room key, and credit card. (all our stuff won't be on one KTTW card unfortunately).
