Anyone NOT from CA get an annual pass?

So I'm from UT and considering getting an annual pass, am I crazy? It's a 10.5 hr drive so I don't know if it is even reasonable...we are flying in when we go in July but would probably drive if we went again.

There are tons of people not from CA with passes. There are many not in the USA with APs even.

I have an Premium AP. The discounts alone make it worth it for me. Sadly, I won't be renewing it for awhile. Gotta save for our next WDW trip!

I have had an AP for four years now. I live in AZ, a slightly shorter car ride. If you have the pass you make the time. If you go twice in one year it's def. worth it.

My hubby and I got annual passes this year. Being from Las Vegas, its only a 4 hour drive, closer than a lot of places in California. And DD is still free. We've made 5 trips since August 07, so definetly got our money's worth. And as PP stated, the discounts make it well worth it. We'll probably squeeze out 1 more trip this year. Next year will be different though, since DD will be 3 and cost us.

We are in NV and have Deluxe passes. It's about a 10 hour drive for us too, but we plan on flying from now on.

As long as you plan on going more then once in a year, it's completely worth it. Pays for themselves! We got 3 uses out of them this year. We won't be able to renew them this time, however the next time we go we plan on buying hoppers and upgrading to AP's again!

It all really depends on whether or not you will visit Disneyland enough within the one year period your pass is good for.

On my last trip, one of my friends got a package through AAA that included hotel, park tickets, a few freebies here and there. He calculated that because of food and merchandise purchases, he would have been better off buying an AP, especially becaue it would allow him to go back again within one year from the day the pass starts(the day you either buy it or the first day your ticket started if you upgrade).

DH and I live in Kansas City and have APs!!! I go to LA a lot on business, and we have family in San Diego that we visit every other year.

Last year, we made it to DLR 4 times!! So far this year we've been once, and plan to go again in October (I'll be there for business), and December.

Then I'll be back in March for the Ladies Only Trip!

So again, I'll get 4 trips from one AP (DH will get three). Definitely worth the money!!!

we have annual pass and we live in utah and we think you pay a little more but with the discounts and if you go back one or two more times it is well worth it .we have been once this year in january and we are going back the first week in june for 6 days . we love having tha AP .

We are a 7.5-hour drive away. We only used to go once a year. Then, we got APs and have gone 3 times already this year. We save comp days at work, leave on Friday night, since there is plenty of day light, and sleep somewhere in the middle of the way. The next day is a block out day (Saturday) so we just take our time, get up whenever we want and go slow.

This is our second year having them and we live in WA state. The first year we went three times and this year we will go twice. Between the AP rates for hotel and food discounts, it is worth it. I am working DH for a Disney cruise so not sure if we will go in addition to our Jan. trip in 2009.

This was our experience as well. Got Paradise Pier Concierge (twice) for $169 per night.

A few considerations in deciding on an Annual Pass:

- If you're inclined to stay On Site.....AND considering off peak, the on site hotels have (historically) had some GREAT AP rates (like $80-$120 off per night). So the AP pays for itself on one 3+ night visit. (I hope they have some AP rates in late Sept. )

- ALL people in a family don't have to purchase the AP to get the above deal. (I bought one for me.....Mrs. Hound & Padewan Alec both get ala carte tickets).

- If you plan on visiting twice (say two different 3 day visits) in a 365 day period, you'd also be way ahead with the AP.

- AP discounts, additional DLR visits & the insider website is a bonus on the above.

We moved away from CA more than 6 yrs ago to Indiana - and I've renewed my AP each year. I'm out there for business 3-4x per year plus we take a family vacation out there each year too to for the kids to see their grandparents, aunts/uncles & cousins. It's worth it for me, but not the rest of the family, so we only renew mine each time.

We're in Washington state and will be renewing for our third AP year when we go there next week. My kids' APs expired awhile back, but I get sent down that way on business trips every now and then and love to use the AP for my free evenings.
