We are not going back to Disney until 2014, when DD will be almost 8, almost 9 and DS will be 3. :( Our last trip, Thanksgiving, we ended up buying 4 autograph books while there because DD wanted allllll the characters' signatures (got a couple of Aurora and others because they were in different places and different pics, DD's choice).

So, I thought since I have such a long time to plan (and can't really start planning yet) that I'd make the kids a scrapbook autograph book. Just curious if anyone has done this before? I'm sure some of you have! I'd love to see yours to get inspiration!!!!

Made these in 2007 when my sons were 6 and 3. Really easy and inexpensive- I think the books were in the dollar bin at JoAnne Fabrics, and bought some Disney stickers. They loved making their own albums- and it was great to save money as they are pretty expensive in the parks.

ETA: reading your post over again- realized you were looking for scrapbook autograph book. You can always find a book with many pages and save one side for a photo and the other for the autograph. Have a fun trip :)

I don't scrapbook, but I love the scrapbook-sized photo albums with the 4x6 slots to slip your pictures in. So one trip I cut out 4x6 pieces of Disney scrapbook paper for autographs, and slipped them into the pages with the pictures.

My daughter and I made our own!!! We searched and hunted the internet for pictures of the characters and made a book for each park (like your daughter it didn't matter if she had already seen Snow white... a new park meant another Snow White signature/pic). So anyways we got the list of characters that are at each park and found a picture (or 2) of them and put their picture on a page along with their name in a font that matched their character. We printed them out on cardstock and made the margin at the top of the page 2 inches. So then after we were done and had a book for each park I took them and had binding done at Staples. We haven't done the next step yet but... we will have them cut off at the top to make the page an 8x8 (instead of 8x10) and put the autograph on one side of an 8x8 scrapbook album and the photos of her with the character on the other. We got lots of compliments on our book and Staples even added a plastic sheet for the front and back for free. It was also super easy to flip and find the pages with it being like a spiral notebook. (We grouped the "themes" together)

It did take quite awhile but my daughter really enjoyed contributing to it!

This is the website we got the idea from! http://www.mommywords.com/2011/01/diy-disney-autograph-book/

I would love love love to make my own, but impossible :-( (Busy with school, work, three kids) does anyone know where I could buy them??????? Not the regular Disney ones but personalized homemade ones??

I wanted to but I couldn't find the right style if book in Michaels or Joann's Fabrics :-/ maybe I should check AC Moore

I am in the process of making one. I am doing the same thing listed as above--- 5 x 7 blank index cards and having them spiral bound. I am scrapbooking them. I bought some Disney embellishments and Disney paper to decorate the pages with. I am also including printed passport pages for the Epcot World Showcase (from the DIScreative board), journaling pages for each park, a scavenger hunt, and some Hidden Mickey pages.

So far it has been really fun to create! I can't wait to give them to my kids and have them fill them all up!

I have been told (though I haven't done one yet) that you can bind about 50 cards together comfortably without it being a huge binding. I also plan to laminate the front cover and back cover with heavy duty lamination from Kinkos (10mil as opposed to my home machine which is 5 mil)

I've seen some cute ones on etsy and some cute ideas here on Disboards. We went in November and used the Disney autograph books. We are going back in May and I took the pictures from November and made a book on Picaboo with pictures of the characters, a little message telling how we met them the last time, and a blank page for a new autograph.

For those who have done the bound printed books...don't the sharpies (or whatever you use) smear? I assume they would and I didn't want to have to hold the book open for a few minutes afterwards waiting for it to dry rather than heading to the next ride. But if it works, it definitely sounds really easy to make with the DIS Creative boards and online printing companies, as well as cost effective.

The sharpie did not smear on my hand-made book. BUT...be extremely careful that the book never gets wet. We did really well with this until we had a leaky water bottle incident. So a small corner of some of the pages is now warped. We kept it in a big plastic baggie but for some reason it was out of the bag at one point

I made our dd an autograph book for our past Disney trip. I used stock card paper and printed it all out myself and then took it to OfficeMax and had it bound. Sharpies did not smear or bleed through onto other pages with the stock card paper. I made a cover and back page and had vinyl covers put over those...it turned out really nicely and she got so many compliments. It took a lot of time, but was worth it in the end and I plan on making another for her for this coming September.

I made one on shutterfly. I don't have pictures to share, I'm sorry - but I put pictures of family with characters (mom/dad/aunt/uncle/grandparents) and the character name on the left side, and then basically left a blank page on the right (with a background that coordinated with the left side). They turned out very cute!

Should I decorate it first? Also, if I were to laminate it should I laminate it before getting it bound?

Thanks, I've never done this before....can you tell? LoL

DW got blank ones at Michaels and the girls decorated them with Disney stickers and other personalizations.
