For our trip I want to make DD Princess shortalls. I see them on ebay all the time but I'm not paying $100.00 or more. I have a tailor who could do all the sewing but I need the fabric. Anyone know where to get it? I would like a Princess theme with birthday too. Thaks if anyone can help.

What's a shorttall?
I sew my daughters clothes (shorts, shirts, dresses) but have never heard of this?

They are like overalls, except the length is more like "shorts" would be.

Our WM now carries some beautiful printed squares of Disney images including the princesses. IDK if you are talking about just putting pieces of the fabric on existing shortalls like I have seen done.

Do you have a link on Ebay that you could show? I did some searches on Shortalls and Princess on ebay and while I see princess shortalls, they are embroided designs - but nowhere near as expensive as $100.

If that is what you are talking about, you need to find someone who has an embroidery machine and princess patterns. Either that, or some fabric stores sell pre-made applique designs that you can sew/iron on. (Like here )

(and yes, I too make custom childrens clothes. :) )

If I were brave enough to try it, I would for DS. Because he's SO skinny and short-legged, every pair of shorts we buy for him look like pants because his legs are so short. We also have to pin the waist smaller because most of the pants are too big. :-/

Even though they'd be 28 years out of date, I wish DMIL had saved some of the shorts and pants she custom made for DH when he was that age. She tells me she had the same problem.

I may be wrong, but the Ariel looks like hand-pieced applique. In other words, it's not an entire fabric picture of Ariel sewn on, but each color is a separate piece of fabric cut (and probably fused on) then satin stitched around the edges to finish off. So I'd assume they use any solid cotton or blend fabric.
