Anyone long term park recently at Detroit Metro?

How much is it and are the lots still color coded? We parked there a couple of years ago, I think in the "blue" lot.

We always use Qwik Park on Merriman. We find it cheaper and enjoy the fact that the shuttle picks us up at our car, takes care of loading our luggage and the return service is very reliable. If you go to their website www.qwikpark.com, you can download coupons for free one day parking.

If you are flying one of the poor cousin airlines (i.e.: not NW, CO, or DL), the Big Blue Deck is covered, walkable (mostly), and about $6 per day. There might be other sites that are cheaper, but not enough to make up for the fact that they are uncovered.

If you are flying NW, CO, or DL through the worldgateway, the next-to-terminal deck has gone up to something close to $15 per day. I don't remember the exact amount, but it seems to go up every time I park there!

We're flying on Spirit Airlines. Do they still have free shuttles from the parking lot to the terminal?

Yes the Big Blue Deck has shuttles to the airlines. For Spirit, however, you can park very close to the walkway (at the far end of the Deck) that puts you very close to the Spirit terminal. Of course, that depends on how crowded the Big Blue Deck is and if you can find space on the same floor as the walkway. I find their Shuttle service to be inconsistent.
We like to park at USA Park on Middlebelt -- its basically the same as Quik Park. We have always had the best service with them, and they give a AAA discount or use the coupons from their website. Very convenient and they are very reliable.

The Big Blue Deck offers two choices for parking - $10 per day is walkable to the Smith Terminal and $6 parking using the shuttles.

I second Qwik Park...we use them all the time. Easy and very convenient.

Are these choices easily marked? I would rather just park in the $6 and wait for the shuttle.

Where is Quik Park and the other places like that? Every time we drive to Metro we literally end up going right into the airport. What exit do you take on 94?

Take the MERRIMAN EXIT off I94 and go NORTH a few blocks. It is on the WEST side of the street.
