anyone living near alta monte springs?

Hi all,

been a REAL long time since i been here and as some of you may know my life long dream has always been to live in Florida (closer to the mouse, and warmer). wondering if anyone lives near alta monte springs or apopka? whats it like? should i avoid it like the plague?


any info is greatly appreciated

Both are nice, and please don't avoid them!

I've lived in Altamonte Spgs, Loved it. I am pretty familiar with Apopka, and it's growing like a weed. I'd live in either place.

Both are exactly 45 minutes from Daytona Beach (drive-time), and about 30 minutes from the mouse (sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on traffic, which is getting better with the widening of I-4).

I live about 100 yards from Altamonte Springs and not much further from Apopka...I'm not quite in Maitland either, nor (thank God) do I live in Eatonville.

We just got a brand new Publix here and there is lots of shopping in the area. We're close to I-4 with several options for alternate routes if needed. Like any town, there are some areas that are probably better than others but overall I really like living here. There are many new subdivisions in Apopka as well as several fairly new apartment complexes.

If there are any specific areas that you are considering let me know and I'll try to give you additional information.
