Anyone linked a April 2015 or later trip to MDE?

Two days ago I booked hotel and tickets through WDTC staying at the AKL for April next year. :cool1: When should I be able to link this trip in MDE? I have tried linking (a few times) using the 6 digit number but it can't find the reservation. :confused3

I have searched through some threads on here and some people seem to have difficulties but others say they have been able to link there reservations straight off using the 6 digit number. For those that linked straight away, how far out were your trips?

The Disney help thread says UK guests should wait 48 hours then use their 6 digit number so I will I wait that long but then I can't decide whether to call Disney and try and get the alternate reference (as some have suggested) or if I am too early and just to wait? Some people have quoted Disney as saying 200 days in advance but that seems ages away and I don't want to wait that long only for the number not to work!

Any advice or reassuring words gratefully received!

Our September 2015 stay is linked to our September 2014 holiday. Husband says that as they were booked from the same e-mail address they are linked automatically.

Not sure if this is true as he does all the booking, but they are linked.

Are holiday isn't until May 2015 and is linked now but we had to wait about 4days hope this helps.

there is nothing you can do with your reservation number until 180 days out anyway
and for the other things you can do on MDE before 180 days out, you don't need to have a ressie linked.

We are all standing like kids who've found their christmas presents on christmas eve, and are told we can't open them yet. It's hard, but that's the way it is.

just be patient, you'll link your ressie soon enough.

Well I called as my reservation is not linked and I have been told not before 299 days. I was previously told 200 days. Basically told different things by different people!

You may have already read this during your research - but I was in the same position when I booked. Hyped up and just wanting to see the reservation onscreen. It took six days, I think, for MDE to respond to my many attempts to link my reservation. Going on what a CM said and also a bit of (lately acquired) common sense, there really isn't a magic number of hour or days. MDE can't retrieve your booking until it is processed by Disney.

It's quite funny to me now how eagerly I kept trying and how excited I was when it eventually co-operated. Had a look around, picked band colours and then.... nothing really. Roll on 180+ day!

Hang in there, it shouldn't be more than a few days.

We're going to AKL too - have you been before? It's wonderful - can't wait.

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. :thumbsup2

I know there isn't anything really I can do once I have selected the magic bands but I am just so impatient and slightly distrusting that Disney will actually get it to work! I just wished that it was the case that at x days out you can link your reservation and it was consistent for everybody so I would know then if everything was running to plan.

Anyway, it's good to know that I'm not alone so thanks again. Out of interest, Danielle87 and lojo when your reservations did finally link was it with the 6 digit number or did you have to call Disney for an alternate reference. Also, when it asks for the phone number did you enter the full UK number as Disney show it on your reservation (or maybe it doesn't ask that when it does link)?

Lojo this is our first time at AKL, can't wait either! When do you go?

I had to call the MDE help desk yesterday for something else and while I was chatting with the CM she said that they have several systems and none of them talk to each other!

The UK booking system is separate as is the DVC booking system.

The only time it automatically links is for US booked cash reservations!

Thanks for this, now it makes sense. I guess at some point bookings get loaded onto the mde regularly

A CM told me that the MDE app was currently being aimed at those with bookings upto 200 days out. He said they were working on making the link up available to those with longer to wait and that I should try every few weeks or so. We have booked for October 2015 so have ages to wait!

That makes sense. I'll be checking with you!

Lojo this is our first time at AKL, can't wait either! When do you go?

The six digit worked fine, I keyed in my phone number minus the first zero.

We go end of January, although we are doing a split stay: Old Key West, then Royal Pacific in Universal, and topping it off nicely with AK. We just loved AK last time (our first trip to the World), it was our favourite of the three; so beautiful, and the staff were wonderful. If it wasn't so far away, we would go there without park tickets, just to enjoy for it's own sake.

You may already have read this, but someone suggested to make sure to use the exact format of your name as printed on your Disney booking, in their case all in capitals.

Hope you get on soon, I know what you mean about feeling more secure when you can see that it's linked, knowing about computer scams make me super suspicious when things don't work the way you think they should. Or maybe that's just me :scratchin.

Thanks for the tips, I am now trying each day with and without the 0 and also changing the case my surname is in (although on the reservation it is in mixed case). One day it will add!

I appreciate everybody's comments, chmurf summed it up in that there is nothing I can do yet when it does finally add but I just want it to work! In the old days I wouldn't call for my US reservation number until about 2 weeks before my 180 days so why I am so anxious for this I really don't know; maybe because it's the first time we've been with this system.

It's good to hear that AKL is so nice, been to Coronado, Saratoga and Wilderness Lodge before and looking forward to this. Only decided on a standard view but still think it will be good!

I'm in! :cool1:

In case it helps anyone else it is 6 days after I booked (like lojo) and 323 days out. It also retrieved the booking just from the 6 digit number and my surname; no need to enter the resort, arrival date and phone number as it had been requesting on the previous occasions when it couldn't link.

Other than playing about with my Magicbands not much else I can do for the next 143 days but I feel relieved it has linked!

Thanks again for the responses.

silently weeping, I keep on trying everyday, knowing that, since I booked OKW, it won't be in the system until 10 months out ... gotta wait until january to link it to MDE ... but one day, it will link, one day, it will link ...

Doing the "MDE link dance'

This one seems most appropriate... :dance3:

:thumbsup2 A happy dance it is too!

It will link and it hope it does so at the 10 month mark for you! But as you said to me in the beginning there isn't anything you can do until the 180 day mark anyway other than pick your magic bands (maybe several times!) and go in and look at the reservation a few times.....
