Anyone like 4 nights better than 7 nights?

We recently went on a 7 night, and we have a 4 night coming up in December. I was not happy about the amount of stuff we had to pack for the 7 night (in order for me to avoid spending part of my time in the laundry room).

Then in the room, it was hard to keep everything in order (my girls were not helpful, they wanted to just toss everything on the dresser and could never find anything).

I am thinking that the 4 day will be easier to pack for than the 7 day. We should have less stuff to have to organize in the room (we have the same room on this 4 night as we did on the 7 night).

Has anyone else who has done both found the 4 night easier to pack for than the 7 night?

BTW: I told DH that next we take a 7 night, I am getting us all a big suitcase and everyone is going to pack for themselves so I don't have to hear, "WHERE'S THIS and WHERE'S THAT?" All through the cruise! You pack it, you find it!

I will soon find out for myself also!!! Been on 3 day (too short!!)and that was our very first cruise...then went on 7 night twice...will go on 4 night in November....I feel too that it will be much easier packing and more organized since we are gong to have a rental car on the port parking lot and we can leave our extra baggages in the car!
Can;t wait!!

I love the 4 day cruises. We took our 1st 7 day this year. Loved it, but I missed being able to spend a day or 2 in Orlando. Next year just booked a 3 day so we can spend a few days in Orlando too.

Also, the 4 day just doesn't seem as formal either.

We like being able to visit the parks in Orlando too (even if only for a day or two). The 4 night lets us fit that into our week vacation (DH can only take 1 week at a time).

We also like that it isn't as formal on the 3/4 night as on the 7 night.

I talked DH into keeping our rental car at the port for this upcoming 4 night so I can leave our winter coats (that will come with us from Indiana) and any extra things we pick up at WDW before we head to the cruise. It will be nice not to have to bring all of that onboard with us.

I am SO hoping our room will be more organized for this 4 night. My girls had WAY too much stuff and were WAY too unorganized on our 7 night.

It was definitely easier to pack for the 4 night -- wee took twice as many clothes for the 7 as we did for the 4 because of formal nights and Palo's.

BUT -- I'll take the extra packing for the extra 3 days! :)

Our packing for our first 4 day wasn't bad - we came right home after the cruise. This year it seemed pretty complicated because we planned to stay 3 nights at WDW post cruise too. DH took over the packing because he had a "plan" - he organized the luggage into "phases" - as in night before cruise; cruise; and WDW, LOL! (He did a great job). It helped keeping all of our dressy cruise clothes in a garment bag.

For next cruise, 7 Night, I chose a room near the laundry as we had before (I know, liking it there I'm in the minority...), and am going to SIMPLIFY knowing we can toss in a load of laundry whenever (which doesn't bother us) and not get dressed up during the daytime. Also we won't be doing WDW afterward so that should help.

When we get in the room DH unpacks everything and puts things away (I know I'm lucky), deal is we have to "get lost" for a while which I don't mind ;) (he does the reverse when we leave). Then we just keep a kitchen trash bag to put our dirty clothes in, otherwise putting everything away, and the room stays pretty neat.

We also always have a car rental and left it in the lot too which made it seem easy. (And at the resort the garment bag would've stayed in the car too had we actually made it to WDW afterward - Frances prevented that from happening). I think the thing that stresses me out the most is the night before the cruise - there's so much to think about bringing onoard and inevitably you forget something you'll need either that night or the next morning.

We were gone a total of 10 days recently with our 7 day Magic cruise and I brought the same size suitcase as I did on our 4 days cruises....packed basically the same stuff with a few extras like formal wear. We each bring one suitcase on all our trips. I actually had extra room in my suitcase this time amazingly enough!!

I do not think you need to bring that much more for a 7 day compared to a 4 day. We just wear a few things more than once or mix and match. I will only do laundry onboard if it a absoultely necessary and only had to do that twice in 11 cruises!!!

The clutter stuff on the desk like hair products, hair dryers, curling irons, sunglasses, sun lotion, hats, visors, KTTW cards, cameras, naviatgors, misc. papers, etc. will be the same for any length of cruise. This is where the over the door shoe holder comes in handy to keep things organized. I also keep a two-pocket folder on the desk for the navigators and misc. papers and find that a great way to keep desk clear.

We come from Portland, but don't wear our winter coats. We manage with just sweatshirts as we are only out of our warm car for a couple of minutes to catch the shuttle from the parking lot to the airport. From that point on we are inside until we arrive in Florida. Saves alot of space. I definately prefer the 7 day and we are doing the 10 day this Dec. Can't get enough!! We also are doing 6 days at DW prior to the 10 day. I will do laundry at the DVC resort before we head out to the ship.
