Anyone know what happened at Radiator Springs Racers today?

@DisnelyLandLiveToday: According to @Signal37mu, Power issues caused the shutdown of several DCA attractions; Goofy’s Sky School, Mermaid & Radiator Springs Racers

And, naturally, @DCAToday says ... drum roll, please ... nada

Power outage yesterday shut down lots of attractions and apparently is still causing problems today.

I was there this morning, and a CM told me when they tried to power up the ride it wouldn't come on. She said it was set in stone even if the ride comes back up there would be no FP's today.

Going back in a few minutes to see if there are any updates.

It's still down, we are in line for Little Mermaid, and line is moving, maybe 10 min. wait.

So Cal experienced a really freak rainstorm last night --- yes, in July!!! :confused3

Trust me, the dog was confused. We were confused. Everyone I know locally was confused.

I would not be surprised if it messed with some power throughout S. Cal. (including DLR).

If I were a So. Cal. July bride right now I'd be freaking out and not too happy with Mother Nature. Average rainfall in So. Cal. in July: .01 inches. Blew that away last night.

Starting to look like Florida here; it was raining yesterday, yet we had the AC on - and crazy humidity

My local weather channel says its 77 degrees right now, but to watch out for isolated thunderstorms - yuck!

That's crazy! Maybe a few light sprinkles in the first week of June, but rain in July? No rain up here. Hope everything gets worked out soon! For all those people there now that would be so disapointing.

Good to know! Thanks, everyone. I am disappointed for those visiting today and thankful we got to ride it on Tuesday.

Everything else is operating except Radiator Springs. It's been down since last night, and it doesn't look too promising for the rest of today. Glad I rode it earlier this week. Oh well. The bright side is I'm at DLR!:woohoo:

CM told us it absolutely would not be back up today. And didnt sound too hopeful about romorrow. Sucks because we havent done it yet and tomorrow is our last day :(

I'm here too today - did the 6:30 am early entry to do Carsland and the only thing working was Luigi's!

We also were told it was due to the power surge because of the freak rainstorm (that is how a few CM's explained it). Really bummed it won't be up today and maybe not tomorrow. We leave Sunday so maybe it will be up by then.

I have riden it once but I am with a group of 11 and no one else has done it! What really irks me is that I planned this trip 2 years ago with our best friends and family specifically to come see the new Carsland area with them. Used lots of DVC points on the Grand Villa (which is absolutely awesome!) and a couple of the people may not be back for years. Oh well...Mother Nature won this round!

Did anyone notice how NOAA called the weather and weather.com and Accuweather were totally wrong?

Yeah, my family and I were there last night and it was down all evening. When we asked if it was weather related (rain in July? :confused3 ) they said no...so if it's this power thing that would make sense. I'm going back tomorrow for a full day with a friend who wanted me to plan out an intense DLR day, so I really hope it's open by tomorrow!

For whatever it's worth, just a little ounce of perspective: You HAVE seen Cars Land with them. There is a lot more to Cars Land than just one ride. Embrace the great things you have had a chance to see and experience together.

Live in so cal and can tell you this freak storm was wild for us in July. Lost power briefly at work in LA county due to storm. Would not be surprised at all if something got blown due to electrical storm. I don't imagine they have spare parts for everything. That ride relies heavily on computers to operate (don't the all now).

It was doing test runs when we past at 9:45pm. I think it may also have to do with the track getting wet (for the first time). It started to sprinkle heavily last night and the ride stopped for a good 20 min before it started again. A CM said because it was the first time it was running and there was rain there maybe a few kinks to deal with. :confused3 let's hope for tomorrow! It's been pretty lovely in both parks with the exception of the freak weather!
