Anyone know the VA reward seat system?

Wanting a 1 way flight from MCO to MAN but cost seems excessive.

MCO to MAN 21,250 total miles, USD 227.50 total taxes & fees
MCO to LON 21,250 total miles, USD 131.50 total taxes & fees

Is this normal? almost double the fees to Manchester? It says the actual taxes are $2.50 to either LON or MAN rest is fuel surcharge.

If its correct I don't think its worth using 64k miles to save £518 (£172pp)

I got the same prices you did for the outgoing flights, interestingly the prices for UK to MCO are
LGW to MCO £150.17
MAN to MCO £148.59

It may still be cheaper to book using miles as prices for a one way flight are usually high a cash economy booking MCO to MAN on 17th Oct 2014 is £1498.320 !

Always check US sites for one way flights, they are often far cheaper than UK sites (or direct with VA) for example the flight we are wanting MCO to MAN is $1,499pp but booked on a US site they are $680pp or using a site that specialises in student travel we can book same flight for our Son at $452. I don't think I have ever booked a one way flight on a UK site unless using miles.

NY was 25k and domestic transfers 7,500. So no, you don't get much for your miles, and they only seem valid on fair codes which are already very cheap...

35,000 is for PE one way.

Been looking into it a bit further, there is definitely an error on the MAN route price. Its always been same as London and it still is for PE, see if this makes it a bit clearer for what I am trying to say.

MCO to MAN:
Eco. 21,250 total miles, USD 227.50 total taxes & fees
PE. 35,000 total miles USD 231.50 total taxes, fees

MCO to LON:
Eco. 21,250 total miles, USD 131.50 total taxes & fees
PE. 35,000 total miles USD 231.50 total taxes, fees

When I checked a few week ago the MAN route was $131.50 same as the LON route, now its showing at $227.50 yet PE is still $231.50 same as LON PE.

I'd give flying club a call and ask them to check, but if I had enough miles I would go in PE.

It must be time for another reward sale soon. The last one was in late August.

Just had a look on head for points and the last reward sale prior to Aug/Seot was in Jan, 25% less miles. It might be worth hanging on.
