Anyone know the refurb schedule for HIASW?

Debating between Nov & Dec dates. I've never seen IASW with the holiday overlay, so I'm trying to plan around when it will be open. All my searches are pulling up 2008 info. Anyone know when it will open after the overlay this year by chance?

The date that I have heard for the official start of the holiday season at DL is the Friday before Thanksgiving.....so it should be open by then. Costco travel says that the holiday season will begin 11/13, but that seems kind of early. I forget the date that the holiday season ends, but its about one week into Jan. Happy planning!!!

We were there Jan 21st of 2008 and it was still in holiday mode. It was the last day so we got to see it-downfall-we got broken down and were at the loud speaker at the end, for 30 mins.

The official DL calendar doesn't have any IASWH info, but I agree with DTDkettleCORNfan -- it's highly likely that IASWH will be open by the Friday before Thanksgiving.

IF this year is done the same way as '03 to '07, then IASWH would open on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.

IF this year is done the same way as '08, then IASWH would open a couple of days before Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. IASW had a major yearlong refurb in '08, so '08 might have been a one-off.

Me too! We decided to go in Nov and we arrive on Nov 7th (my birthday ). I'd love to see HIASW, but not enough to totally rearrange our schedule for it.

I was there 2 years ago and I remember it opening the Fri. before Veteran's Day, so that would be the 6th. Let's just cross our fingers that's the case this year.

This isn't official, but according to a post in another forum (link),

IASW will be going down October 27-November 12 to install the IASWH overlay.

According to the post, this information will soon appear in a MP Weekly Update.

That is the way it was for us in 04 and 05. So hopefully for those going around that time, it will be done.

According to the official DL calendar:

IASW will be down from Monday, October 26, to Thursday, November 12.

IASWH will open on Friday, November 13.

Thanks for the update. As it happens, we changed our dates to Dec 6-11 b/c we decided to avoid the holiday (Veteran's Day). I'm sure the info will come in handy for anyone else on the fence, though.
