I have a 5 day park hopper...my brother gets them at discount from Bank One/Chase..they still seem to have the old tickets. If we decided to upgrade to a seven day does anyone know what it would cost.

Thanks

Mary :cheer2:

It all depends on how much credit they give you. Disney can scan the hopper pass and determine the exact price at which they originally sold the pass. That is the amount they will credit you toward an upgrade. The amount of credit you receive may not have any relationship to the price that you are paying for the ticket.

I know I am bumping up an old post but.... Chase currently sells only 3 and 5 day Hoppers (old tixs - noy MYW) to there employees at a discount. And the discount is based on the old rates - so its actually a pretty good deal at this point...

So I bought 5 days for my recent trip even though I would've bought a 6 day (no hopper) if I had a choice.

When I went to MGM on the first day in the park they added a sixth day for $2 / tix !!! I thought it would cost me more as I thought I would've lost some of my Chase discount when attempting to do this upgrade.

Prior to 2005, you would have. But MYW tickets are figured using gate prices, not sales prices. This allows you to maintain any discount you got from purchasing your ticket from any authorized third party source like FL ticket wholesalers, AAA, military, corporate discounts, etc.

Wow that is a great deal :cool1: . I think I will stock up on 3 day passes that I will buy with the Corporate Discount. Then I will tack on the extra days I need at minimal cost. Maybe toss on the Water Park Option as well..

Disney does not penalize a person for buying discounted tickets when upgrading them.

If the ticket has been purchased at a price less than the current gate price this is a two-step process. Note it can only be done within 14 days of first use, even if it has the no-expire option.

First an "intermediate" ticket is issued, which brings the price value up to the current Disney gate price. This is charged to an internal account and not to the Guest.

Then the intermediate ticket is upgraded to a new ticket by adding days and/or options. All the Guest has to pay is the cost for each day and/or option added (plus tax, of course).

Note this only works for MYW tickets. Anything pre-MYW cannot be upgraded; if completely unused you can apply the cost value to the new ticket. If partially used nothing can be done but you can still use the remaining entries. If demagnetized we can replace it.

(I work at a ticket/Guest Services location.)
