SOUTHEAST OF THE FLORIDA LOWER EAST COAST.


Anyone know the latitude and longitude of CC? Sounds like it's very close to CC now.

I've seen different coordinates, but http://allearsnet.com/cruise/cruise_10.shtml lists it at:

26 deg. 004.608 min N latitude, 77 deg. 32.238 min. W longitude

i got my info off the sweatshirt I bougtht while on the disney cruise a feew years ago--they are the same as jlmarr. but jlmarrs have a bit more detail my number are rounded to the hundredth.

Hurricane Frances is 12 miles from Castaway Cay at last report.

I have been tracking the storm using a program called "Eye of the Storm" from Starstone Systems Software. I entered the coordinates for CC that I got (believe it or not) from Microsoft Streets & Trips 2002.

I used 26.08N 77.53W and it puts the "dot" right on Gorda Cay (the other name for CC).

right on top of it around 4:30. The eye might have gone a bit east of it.

Not that this is terribly important right now, but it occurred to me that geocacher's might have nailed down the CC coordinates with a GPS. Sure enough, here is one geocache with coords ...
