i am trying to budget my money and i am wondering how much are those thingys at the parades gonna cost me..you know the light up things......

I think the spinner things were $14.00. Is that what you were asking about??

yea spinners..swords...head things..any..thanks..

I think budgeting $20-30 for any parade is safe. Or you can always practice, "no" "no" and "no way." We always prefer to buy our children's love.:D

This is one of the things the girls have their Disney Dollars for - once they're gone - that's it, though ;)

We pay for food and snacks - they pay for "merchandise" and souveniers.

Do the lightup thingys work again after the parade or are they like those stupid glow necklaces and wands that you desperately try to preserve in the freezer, yet never really works again? <sigh> I was so saddened by those as a child!! LOL!

(in other words, if the girls get something at a parade on day one - can they use it at a parade of day 7?

The spin/light things are really a good quality. Ours from two years ago still works. DS was 8 and i though he might be too old but he wanted a buzz one. it really was worth the money as it kept him happy waiting for fantasmic.

The light up spinners use batteries. We have one from 9/2002 that works great still (with a new set of batteries). And we just bought another last month. My daughter loves them, I think more than the necklaces that only work for a short period of time. As for glow sticks, I prefer to buy those at a regular store and bring them with since they are expensive for what you get.

Depending on how fancy or complicated a toy they choose they will run 12-20 but you can use them for the entire vacation. We always bring ours back as well. One thing I do pack is batteries, we always seem to run out of batteries for something. Everything seems to use them, gameboy, walkman for plane, camera and of course spinny light up toys. They are pricey at the resorts so I stock up at sales and bring a few extra in our most used sizes just in case.

A lot of times the Disney Store will put the light up spinners on sale. I got two Buzz Lightyear ones for $1 each a month ago. They are just as good as the ones in the parks, I know because my daughter has a Tinkerbelle one that her lala bought her. Still works great almost two years later. I also have two Halloween ones from wal-mart that my kids call the Haunted Mansion spinners.....
As for glo necklaces, avoid the ones from the Dollar Store. Every pack I have bought from there has had one that worked and one that didn't.
Now I get my glo stuff on ebay. I have so far won two lots of 50 bracelets each for $1, paying around $4-5 dollars shipping.
At that price I could easily afford to hand them out to other children waiting for Fantasmic, which I did. The kids and their parents were thrilled, and my kids had a blast handing them out!

I bought Christmas Mickey spinners on clearance last year at The Disney Store....Paid 3.50....can't wait to give them in the kids Stockings this year so the can use them in the parks....YIPPEEE

DD has quite a few spinners and they are all from the Disney Store. They have all been bought on sale for usually half price. I bring them to WDW and each night she picks the one she wants to use. Since they are different from the ones at the parks we always get asked where we purchased that particular spinner.

Our girls still use play with the Tinkerbelle spinner from last year, as well as the wand (the one with the star that lights up). These both take regular batteries, which is great.

$10-12 at the Disney store if you buy them before you go, but $12 and up if you wait until you get to the park (or $14 for them at Disney on Ice...forgot ours from home and ended up buying another one!) Either way, I'd recommend getting one. They keep the kids entertained while waiting, and they still play with theirs 2 years later (with fresh batteries, of course..)

We lucked into some at the Disney store last month. Several Buzz and Woody styles were on clearance for $2.50. Picked some up for the cousins joining us on our trip in 10 days. Check there for some bargains.

HTH,
Katie
