We will be going there for the weekend to see Cirque du Soleil/Quidam and will be staying at the Marriott on the Wharf. The area with good italian restaurants is the North End, correct? If my research proves right, we will be within walking distance from there (I hope). We will have our 2 kids (12 and 14) with us, but they have extremely sophisticated palates for their age. We are not looking for your typical ziti/lasagna/eggplant parm kinda restaurant. Any suggestions?

I'm sure Eros knows a few good Italians in the Boston area!

Since I haven't been to the North End in a few years I won't try and
recommend.

Here is a BB that will help you = it covers others areas besides Boston. However, you'll find many opinions regarding the North End. Just be prepared they are not monitored the way the DIS is so you may find a few posts that you may just want o skip over.

So until someone gets back to you - happy reading:

Enjoy the Long Warf!!! Mostly we take day trips to Boston....it's about an hour drive.....but we did stay there for one lovely weekend! Sorry I can't help with restaurant suggestions.

I'll second dt, the phantomgourmet's reviews have always proven to be very accurate

G'Vanni's on Prince Street in the North End. We've gone a few times and it's been excellent. Very tiny though, you may need a reservation or plan on waiting;) .

I really enjoy L'Osteria. Sorry, I don't know which street, just know how to get there myself! I have been there many times over the years and always have enjoyed it. This restaurant is also very tiny and seems to always have a line out the door, so get there early or make reservations.

Thanks everyone! I will check out those websites. Anyone else?

If you go to the North End, walk down Hanover St(the main drag) or go down any of the side streets and pick a restaurant that you like the looks of, you will NOT get a bad meal.

La Famiglia is great (huge HUGE portions)
La Dolce Vita
Marcellos
L'Osteria Rustica is great
Il Pannino

And then for cappuccinno and pastry after dinner, you can either do Mike's Pastry or Cafe Vittorio. Yum Yum

Like Deb said, Hanover Street. I vote for Fiores.
