I just looked at weather.com and now I'm really bummed! The weather has been beautiful for weeks now in WDW and all of a sudden they're predicting rain MLK weekend! Boo-hoo-hoo!

Anyone else going MLK weekend? Or does anyone know how accurate the predictions turn out to be? I HATE it when it rains in WDW.

Scoot over! There are LOTS of people in the same boat!

I have been pulling up the weather sites multiple times every day, and every time they are different. I have no clue how accurate they are.

I bought rain gear yesterday because it's too late to back out now! :smooth:

We'll be there 1/13 to 1/17 and I figure this is where flexibility counts. Because you are right--they keep changing the forecast so who knows what will happen. Looks to me like our first days are the warmest so I'm going to be sure to make time for the pool (SAB for us) so that kids aren't disappointed later in the weekend with the colder temps and possible rain. We'll do MK on Friday due to EMH and then go with the weather flow the other days.

Aren't we just lucky to be saying that we're going this week?~ :flower1:

We live in Vero Beach and have seen all kinds of weather the past few weeks. It has been wonderful out the past few days but I know it may not last.

I can go from wearing shorts one day to long sleeves and fleece the next.

I would just hope for the best. Weather predictions can't be perfect.

:flower1:

I am busy packing today for or trip later in the week. I'm taking everything from bathing suits to parkas, and rain ponchos too!

I think it was Monday the forcast said VERY windy.

The predictions will be as accurate as they are in your area.

What is the best thing for rain gear that is comfortable and manageable? How much are the Disney parkas? I can buy them now, but I kind of like the idea of having Mickey on my back. :D
I always have a problem with wet shoes. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Getting tight in the boat, just add 2 more.

Yes, been checking the weather, but I find it helps if I check the weather at home. Starting Saturday (the 15th--the day we leave), we will have a HIGH of 30 at home. OK, 60s is looking good. It will be in the teens at home the week we're gone, OK 40s at night isn't so bad. The only thing that will be bad is if it rains. Raining and 40s is not good at night. It can be cold and raw. I have my rain pounchos packed, along with some fleece, hat and gloves, and a sweatshirt or 2, along with shorts and bathing suit. Not much we can do about it, but I plan to come home and lie to my co-workers and tell them how HOT it was, even if it isn't.

I agree, wet socks and shoes = misery. If we're pretty sure it will rain, we wear our Tevas that day. Kind of like walking around barefoot, you don't mind getting wet.

We are all bringing at least two pairs of shoes and TONS of socks, baby powder and spray deodorant. One way or another we will keep those feet dry and blister free!

We bought cheap ponchos at Dollar General. Yesterday I found Eddie Bauer rain jackets for DH and me at Target for $7.50 each in the camping aisle. They are quite nice and will be good long after the trip. They had almost ALL of the camping gear half price - ponchos, glow sticks, all sorts of stuff that might be handy at WDW.

Keep watching those weather websites!

I will be there Jan 19 - 26 so prepare for rain and cold!

I dunno it didn't look too bad when I checked the forecast...too bad the last warm day will be Friday...the day I arrive... That could change up my schedule to Blizzard Beach day one if things don't improve...but I think they will moderate a bit. I'm definitely hoping for 70's since the weather here has been in the 60's lately so that won't be a treat at all.

No steady rain in the forecast is AOK in my book. I probably shouldn't say this but I've NEVER had a steady rain day in Disney. One gloomy cool day that we went to Splendid China (made it much more realistic for some reason). So I either just jinxed things or you all should welcome me to Florida.

Hey doubletrouble you just jinxed it! It will surely pour on us all now! lol I keep checking accuweather and it says rain, rain, rain! Boo hoo!!!!!! I am soooo bummed!

I was a little bummed when I saw how nice it has been and next week looks a little cool. We are going to Naples on Friday and it is suppose to be highs around 70--which considering it is suppose to be a HIGH temp here when we are gone of 10 below zero-isn't too bad, but 80's are better.

It's going to be around 0 here for the weekend. Tonight and tomorrow maybe freezing rain. We have our Eddie Bauer ponchos and extra shoes. We live in Michigan rain doesn't slow us down and as an extra bonus, if it is too cold for shorts then no one will see my white legs!!

LOL I was thinking the exact same thing! NO shorts.. no worries! 60 in Florida at Disney sure beats 3 in Michigan at work any day, eh?

Have a safe and magical trip!
Two days!
Debbie

It has been my theory and observation for the past 34 yrs. of visiting WDW yearly that;
