Anyone know how a good book on Disney Co.?

Hi Everyone, I hope this is a good spot to ask this question. I am trying to read up about the Walt Disney Company. I have been seaching the libraries and looking online but I can't seem to find what I am looking for. I want to know all about the disney company. How it got started? Why is it so great today? How did at get to where it is today? You know things like that. I have only really been able to find Biographies about Walt,Roy, and Michael and that's not what I want. So if anyone knows of a book or even a website that would be great. I have looked at the official website for the disney co. and it has great information but i am looking to go even more in depth than that. Thanks everyone.

There are several really good books but I believe some of them may be out of print. There's one called "The Disney Way" which I think may have what you want. I know there are a couple others but I can't remember what they were. If you can get your hands on the annual reports from the corporation, they usually have a nice history in them too. They are a little fluffed up, but the facts are accurate, even if they do not contain the whole truth.

You might want to go to your library. They probably are a good plae to start.

I am currently reading-DISNEY WAR by James B Stewart. ISBN #0-684-80993-1. It is very interesting.
The blurb that caught my attention was...."Once upon a time, one man ruled America's greatest entertainment company. This is the untold story of his triumphs and failures, and the revolt that cost him his kingdom..."

I picked it up on a clearance table at Chapters for $4.99

I've read Inside the Magic Kingdom and Be Our Guest. Both were wonderful books!!!

DisneyWar is excellent. Also "Walt Disney" by Neal Gabler and "Storming the Magic Kingdom" by John Taylor is good as well. Andrew Ross wrote a book several years ago about the beginnings of Celebration that is also interesting - if dated. "The Celebration Chronicles" Happy reading!
