Does anyone know the current rates beinf offered at the Swan and Dolphin for Nurses? What about for a Concierge Room? Thanks.

Everytime I call I get a diff. rate. The best thing to do is call and if you don't like the rate call back in a day or so! Why are they so crazy with their rates! I hate the fact that they jump rates in the middle of your stay! I will not stay there again because of that. We went from Fri-Tues at $209 then on Wed it jumped to $249 for 3 days and then back to $209. That was just crazy!! Be very careful at what price you are quoted for the week!

i hate they change the price too.. i've always wanted to try this.. i'm a nurse and my husband is a police officer/government worker.. so, i always wanted to call and get the lower price for as many days as possible.. and then have my husband call for those same days they said the price would be higher and see if they all of a sudden have availability..

does this make sense? haha

I was given a rate of only $169.00/night for our trip in April. I was ready to fall off my chair, until she told me that would only be for 2 nights of my 8 day stay. The others would be at $249.00.

I have never lucked out with getting the nurse discount for our trips.

Good luck

I just got 4/6-4/9 at the govt. rate of $169.00. They had club level and conceirge available but I don't remember prices except to say I think all were under $300.

I was quoted a gov rate of $149/night for July 11-15 ( 5 nights - Mon-Fri). The rate was NOT available for the 16th (Sat), however, I was told it was available from July 6 - July 15.

Of course, you must add the 11.5% tax - which brings the cost to $166, then add the $10 per day resort fee - $176, and finally the new $7 per day to park the car (if you have one). Grand total is now $183/night.

It's a better price than the "rack rate" but it certainly isn't the type of deal that has been offered in the past. I guess those of us who enjoyed deeper discounts in other years should be glad we were able to save money on those trips.

It seems that this year the discounts are fewer and are only being offered on very specific days - also the overall rates for the hotel rooms are higher on the weekend - I have no idea why - this was never the case before.

I did notice when trying to book online through Starwood, I was offered a $199/night internet rate. None of the other discounts were available - no AAA, no gov, etc. I had to call the Swan directly to get the quote for the government rate.

One of the reasons that I enjoyed switching to the Swan was the ease of making reservations. After years of making endless calls to Disney looking for AP rates, it was so nice to just book the room online or make one phone call early in the year and secure our rooms - at a nice discount. It's a real shame that this perk is disappearing.

We've been to Disney many many times and it is only in the past week that I found out that there even was a discount to police officers - what do I live in a cave - anyway can someone tell me how to go about receiving/requesting this discount and is it only for the Swan - we have never stayed there before, how is it? thanks

The discount is for nurse/teacher/govt employee. It is not always available and it could be available for some nights but not others. In that case you may have to make two separate reservations but that is not a big deal. You will be asked to show proof at check-in that you qualify for the discount. A govt issued ID works. If you don't have that, ask when you book they will tell you what others form of proof are acceptable.

We love the Swan! Great beds. Wonderful location. Lots of dining option with the Boardwalk and Epcot within walking distance. Fantasia Gardens is right across the street. Nice pools. We actually prefer it to the "Disney" hotels.

Mrs Banks, just to let you know, as a police officer you can request government rates at most major hotel chains and for the most part the discount can be fairly significant. We had gotten a great govt rate of $99 at the Marriot Orlando World Center one year! I was always disappointed that the Disney Resorts never offered this rate.

Thats why I checked with the Swan years ago about a govt rate and we stayed in Feb, during Presidents Week for$119! I don't even remember if there was the resort fee charged! It wasn't long after that that the famous discounts for the S/D became so well known here on the DIS, with the very generous teacher/nurse discount included. Now a nurse's discount is not one that you will find anywhere else that I know of, so kudos to S/D for that.
I also recall being able to book the discount rate for the whole stay. Oh well, at $149 it still beats the cheapest rate I had at the BC of $169 for the same location.

Also, FYI on the SPG website, I was quoted some days at the Dolphin for $159 without the govt rate, it was just listed as a "discount" rate.
