My husband might have to have it. Our big WDW trip is 6 weeks out? Can he postpone it? What is the recovery time for something like that?

Woo hoo! I just had a double hernia surgery last tuesday. (so about 13 days ago). I was in and out of the surgery center in about 5 hours.

It was done using the scope, so no big incision which can add to your healing time. I was very sore for about 3 days, and pretty black and blue and uncomfortable. I took vicodin to take a little of the edge off, but only 1/2 what they prescribed - didn't make me loopy, just helped with the pain a little.

I had lifting restrictions for the first week and pretty much sat around and did NOTHING for the whole week(off of work). I took last week off also, but more to be able to let the tenderness and sometimes sharp pains pretty much wear off. I am at work right now, doing fine - but I sit on my butt all day long.

We are scheduled for a trip to WDW at the end of the month, and the doctor said I should be fine for the trip -almost fully recovered. I may still have a bit of swelling but that's ok compared to the hernia.

I think you should be fine being 6 weeks out. If you have any other questions, just ask - PM if you feel more comfortable with that....

I hope your dh is well in time to make the trip to WDW.

6 weeks should be plenty of healing time. I had this done as same day surgery.
