We are going to DLP leaving Edinburgh airport on the 13th January and returning on the 18th.....I think we will be ok getting there but will be stranded at Charles De Gualle on the way back....for 24 hrs?????

can someone tell me I'm wrong please!!:rotfl:

Do these sort of strikes usually happen? Or is there a chance it will be sorted out?

My sister is leaving Edinburgh on the 14th and I think there is a 24 hr strike that day too!:sad1:

Things can always be sorted out at the 11th hour.......so fingers crossed it will be. :thumbsup2

We knew there was a likelihood we were going to get caught up in strikes on our return in October and lo behold we did. I do have to say the staff at CDG are marvellous and did their utmost to return us to the UK asap.

Are you travelling with Air France?? If so, there is this notice posted on their website.

Thank you WARE BEARS for the link and the reply!!

My sister is going to DLP leaving from Edinburgh on the 14th and never got her insurance in time so shes not covered for the strikes..we get back on the 18th, hopefully it won't come to it but just incase I'm putting some clean knickers in my pocket and a tooth brush!!.....mind you will they take our suitcases or leave as all alone?:rotfl:

So, did you have to pay alot to get back home or did Air France cover that? Or did your insurance kick in...sorry not sure what to expect!

Our insurance covered us for delays caused by strikes too ~ but only if we were delayed by more than 12 hours which we weren't.

In our case it was Air France who were on strike and they were just putting people on whatever planes they could to get them out of France (even rival airlines) ~ we had great fun ;) at one stage they were going to taxi us to Paris to put us on the Eurostar, the next minute they were trying to send us back to the UK via Dusseldorf in Germany :scared1: but both plans failed because there weren't enough seats for all of us. We ended up spending the night at the airport (there were NO airport hotel rooms left) and came back on a direct flight the next morning.

In your case, I suspect they may try to fly you into an airport in the UK that is not taking part in the strikes.

Let's hope that the strike is called off. :wizard:

OMG:scared1: I'm gonna have to take it as it comes..I'm scared!!!:rotfl2:
