Anyone know about rescheduling a AAA booked trip?

We don't have airline tickets as we are driving, but something has come up and we may actually have to reschedule our vacation. I NEVER thought that would happen! Although I won't share the reason at this time, it's a worthy reason.

So, I know there would be a fee involved, I'm trying to figure out how much, etc. anyone have any experience?

I just booked through AAA a few days ago, and at the bottom of my itinerary it lists "2006 Change Fees" as: *30 days or more prior to arrival $25; *29-5 days prior to arrival $50; *4-0 days prior to arrival $75.

The above info is Disney Travel policy. If you purchased trip insurance, you can submit a claim for any money you are out on the reschedule/cancellation. I think the rescheduled trip had to be within a certain time period (6 months? but not too sure of that.) If you intend to reschedule, you need to notify AAA/Disney of your intent and set new dates; I was told I had 10 days to do this, but when I called back on the 9th or 10th day was told 'someone' had already cancelled our booking. :sad2:

We had to cancel our April trip the day before it was to begin for medical reasons. So we were out the airfare altogether, plus half the cost of our hotel+ticket part of the package. Fortunately we had trip insurance, so just need to get that claim in.

Our travel agent was somewhat helpful, but I bet AAA would be very helpful to you in that process, so give them a call. Good luck! :)

I changed from the GCH to DLH (more than 30 days out) and they charged me $25. Now DH says we don't have enough money to go and he wants to drastically downsize the vacation from 5 of us getting City passes and staying at the DLH to 3 of us getting 4 day parkhoppers and staying at some cheapy good neighbor hotel.

It is 32 days out. I wonder how much they're going to charge me? It's not just a simple change, like from GCH to DLH...

I guess I'll know soon as I need to call sometime today or tomorrow...

Update: I called and because I was not just changing dates or hotels (but actually cancelling the hotel portion) they charged me $50. The rep said it was $100 to cancel or $25 to change, so I have no idea how I got charged $50. Apparently, since we'll be going to a cheapy hotel that AAA does not support, they had to cancel the initial reservation and then make a new ressie with just the park hoppers and no hotel.

Three times over the last 2+ years. Each time there was a $25.00 charge since we were more than 30 days. They were very understanding and helpful(AAA). Same package different dates. Be aware that prices may also change with the date changes and specials do come and go.
