We have a jacuzzi/whirlpool hot tub off our deck. Last December it did not turn on one day so I called the pool company and they came out and changed a fuse.. The fuse was $6.00 the home vist another $100.00. Yesterday I went to put some bromide in and it did not turn on again. We have had a bunch of thunderstorms so I am thinking it may be a fuse again. I hate to pay an extra $100.00 if I could change the fuse myself but don't know how to tell which is the bad one?

what do the fuses look like..if they're the type with the glass window you can see the broken filament, if they are the solid tube type, just replace one at a time until it works...

And if you can't find it yourself, have them come out and watch where they make the change. Think of it as a $100 electrical lesson. See if they can't drop the charge a little bit or something. It never hurts to ask:

"Hey, all you really did was replace a fuse, can I get a break on that rate?".

Worse they can say is no.

The $100.00 is the set fee to come out to our house. I think they are the glass type, DH will investigate it this weekend. Thanks for the idea to try replacing them one at a time.. Duh... I am a bright bulb didn't think of that one

If you have a multitester you can test every fuse, regardless of type, without having to take it out and replace it to check. It's a minimal investment that will pay off in the long run....
