I just joined Snap Fitness a week ago, and have been working out every day there. My body weight has stayed the same the entire week! I was hoping I would see results faster, but maybe it will just take a while??? I have been doing the arc trainer machine for at least 30 minutes, sweating bullets!! I also do the exercise bike for about 20. I am slowly integrating the weights in, but only doing like 10-15 minutes of that. Why is the weight not coming off? My body feels different, my muscles are tight(especially in my legs). I know I am getting a good workout every time. I also am on WW, so wondering if I should be eating more since I am working out more. The machines are telling me that I am burning anywhere between 350-450 calories for the time I am working out. Anyone have any advice???:confused3

First off, congrats on taking the 1st step to becoming a better you!

That said, one week in the gym is a good start, but most people WILL NOT see massive changes in one week. If you watch Biggest Loser and are trying to compare yourself to their crazy first week weight losses - DON'T! It is really going to take consistent weekly efforts to start seeing a change so do not get discouraged.

Also, I would not necessarily believe the machines calorie burn rates. They are often based on standard tables and can be off by as much as 20% (maybe more). You can probably google about this topic as I've seen it on those investigative news reports, etc. on the inaccuracies of the machine's claims of calorie burn. A more representative calorie burn would be to get yourself a heart rate monitor that lets you plug in your appropriate stats (age, weight, etc) and that will probably give you a little more (but still not perfect) calorie burn for your workout.

KEEP IT UP.

No advice. But it is only one week. You will see changes at some point.

But it does remind me of a story that Bob Greene, Oprah's trainer, always shares. He had this client who quit on him because she hadn't lost a pound. She was angry. He tried to talk to her about muscle weight, body changes and the physiology of weight.

Anyway, he gives up, because she won't listen, and then he precedes to watch her workout pants almost falling off her as she walked away!!!!:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: A kind of a shake his head moment for him.

Weight's the same OP. But is your body?

Best of luck,

Lisa

I have been going to the gym for a month and I have lost only 7lbs.
I feel like I should be losing more. I will say that clothes do feel loose
and I do feel better but I am also not big on dieting I have been watching what I eat but not on a strict diet. So hang in there!!

How many calories are you consuming? It may be a good idea to log your calories and sodium for a week and that will definitely tell you "why" the weight is not coming off. Most of the first week of weight loss will probably be water.

I know how you feel, I joined the gym in Feb and felt like I was at a stand still for the rest of that month, I upped my workout and really tightened my eating and today the scale looks GOOD, I hope it will be the same or better tomorrow for official weigh in:lmao:

You could be losing inches, how are you clothes fitting? This si going to sound really funny and probably embarassing, but my underware are getting loose:rotfl: I am sure you are looking and feeling better, congrats on keeping up with it!
