Anyone "just" hit the beach at the ports?

We are doing an 7-day Easter Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy, and I feel like all I want to do is hit the beach on port days. Would I really be missing out on a lot?? (I have a 6 YO and a 2 YO)

With a 6 yo and 2 yo, I think your options for excursions are kind of limited. How many times can you go on the Atlantis submarine? And a 2 yo sightseeing? With that age, beach days are a great option. Also, consider just hanging out on board. It will be a lot less crowded than at sea days.

We did a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise last September and on our St. Maarten day we just went to the public beach on our own. We had a 16 month-old with us, so there weren't really any excursions that appealed to us. We had a great time just taking the water taxi to the beach and hanging out for a few hours.

We're doing the same cruise next May (except Tortola instead of St. Maarten), and will probably do something similar as we'll have a 3 year old and a 10 month-old.

when its just dh and I hanging out at the beaches and utilizing the empty ship are our favorite things to do. we do it on the eastern and the western. not for everyone but nothing wrong with that. :)

Thanks @ALL! With my little guy, I don't feel like going to far and doing too many excursions this time around - hopefully there will be more cruises in our future :-)
