Anyone interested in sending a care package to the Vero Staff??

Not sure what.... not sure how.... but my heart would like to reach out to them.

Laura: While I think it is a great idea to help in any way we can, I'd suggest that those interested in helping make a donation to the Red Cross. From what I've heard, they have done an amazing job. Sending a care package might never reach anyone who really needs it. Sending something (even something small) to the Red Cross will get to where it's needed the most.

Happy Birthday Cat has a good point. I've volunteered to help the Red Cross after several tornados hit our area. So I've seen first hand the good work they do.

But, I also think Laurabearz has a good idea.

How about a "card shower"? If everyone sent a card or note to the VB CMs letting them know we're thinking about them, I think they would be really surprised to see how many people care and have been concerned. I'm sure many of them have lost more than several weeks worth of paychecks.

Just a small jesture to let them all know we are thinking about them... after all they are the reason the resort is 'home'

We live in Palm Beach County and we received only minor damage. The property loss farther north near Vero is much, much worse. Speaking first hand, I can tell you that what the VB staff really needs now is $$$$.

Many Members have inquired about how they may send well wishes and donations to their extended Disney Cast family. The Walt Disney World® Resort has set up a Cast Member Hurricane Relief fund through which donations can be made to affected employees. Checks can be sent to:

A note can be enclosed with the donation to request that this benefits whomever the Member would like, i.e. Disney's Vero Beach Resort Cast Members. Kindly note on the memo line of the check to whom the donation is for.

thegoods: thanks for the info on the Member Site about donations to Cast Member Hurricane Relief Fund. Since this fund has already been established, I think it would be nice to show the CMs how much we support them in their time of need. I still like the idea of cards or notes to the resort since probably not all the CMs at VB will qualify for relief funds.

I enclosed a personal note with my check. Don't know whether any CM ever got it, but I am hopeful that Vista forwarded it. In any case, I agree that $$ is most needed, for lost belongings and lost wages as well as extra expenses (generators, etc.)
