We are actually getting to see some Fall color.

We drove to Dallas and Richardson today and the trees are turning beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red.

For those of you in colder climates this may not be a big deal, but for us in Texas we usually only get to see the leaves turn brown and shrivel up and fall off.

I love this color we are getting this year:)

I've noticed it all over the city here too! The beautiful colors seem to be lasting longer than I can remember in recent years past. It's so beautiful!

If you drive down Mockingbird between the toll road and Central, the trees are lovely.

Yes, I've been seeing some of the prettiest reds that I've seen in awhile, some orange also.

YES, it's gorgeous this year! Much better than the typical North Texas fall. :) :) :)

I wonder why the trees are changing so nicely this year? Of course, it's been cold and warm on and off but that's normal up here isn't it?

Planogirl - I think I heard it is because you have to have warm a lot of warm days and cool nights, plus rain. If the nights are too warm it keeps the leaves from changing. If it gets too cold the leaves just die and fall off. Whatever it is I like it!!

News says cold front coming thru...going to be a low in the 40"s here so it will be colder up there by tomorrow I believe.

Oh, you lucky people! I'm a transplanted New Englander who misses colored leaves in the fall. DS goes to school in North Texas-have to call him about it.

There is a reservoir out my window at work, I'm on the 8th floor and the colors are beautiful!! Lots of trees out my window.
