We heard a HUGE BOOM and now there is fire coming out of the asphalt...manhole explosion maybe? Tons of firefighters.

Probably a water main / steam pipe explosion, or one with Con Ed. With all the weather we've been having, it's no wonder. This stuff is routine.

Bad, busy intersection, right near Macy's. I'm glad no one was hurt and the leak was stopped before people in the building got all woozy and affected.
