Anyone Homeschool for Middle School?

DSs just started school yesterday. DH is already wondering if we should be homeschooling.
We both have college degrees and I would find a cirriculum to follow. So what type program do you/have you used? What type of daily schedule do you follow?

I know tons of people who homeschool middle school. It really isn't that hard as long as you find the curriculum that would work for you. My oldest is only in 5th grade so we aren't middle school yet. I would suggest looking at www.homeschoolreviews.com to start looking into curriculum choices. There are also many many yahoo groups for homeschooling. I belong to a kindergarten at home one among others and I am sure that there are probably middle school ones as well. One curriculum I can personally recommend is WinterPromise. It is well rounded and challenging. It does come from a Christian perspecive though.

I do...My daughter actually does a a "virtual" school OHVA thru k12.com..CHeck out their site, they offer curriculums by state and for traditional homeschooling as well...This is our second year (she is in gr. 8) and we really like it. OUr school just rec'd an "effective" rating from the State of Ohio and is the highest ranking eschool in Ohio.

www.abekaacademy.org - We used this one with great success. The teacher kit breaks everything down for you (what to do each day, etc.).

I do not but my SIL does for "religious" reasons, however they are control freaks. Their reasons are unhealthy imo.
I think her kids would prefer to go to public school.

That being said I think many kids can benefit from Homeschooling for the right reasons!
Gifted kids, kids with "issues", and kids in school districts that are not up to standards or dangerous.

My kids would rather stick forks in their eyes than be homeschooled by me... We are lucky to get through homework. Although if I had to do it, I would.
