Anyone here own a brick outside MK?

Hi! We have one along the walkway to the Contemporary. We bought it on our honeymoon back in 1995! I too wish they would do something like this again....

When you paid for the brick, did they tell you where it would be placed? I'm wondering how anyone could find their brick if you weren't given a general location?

I don't have a brick but love looking for bricks of folks who live near me!

I really don't like those "monoliths" in Epcot but who asked me? LOL.

When they were still selling the bricks you could go to a representive and they would look up where your brick was. Ours is so easy to remember where it is that after finding it once we didn't need to ask again.

I'm not sure if you're still able to check with customer service anymore or not.

We have one outside of the ticket area at the TTC. My husband purchased it as a Wedding Surprise for me when we got married in 2000.

We brought ours when it first started back in 1994. Ours is located in the MK walkway to CR We had requested a blank one next to ours so in 2000 when they sold some more we added the newest family member's name to the other brick.

I purchased ours in 1996. It is located on the walkway that goes between the monoral station and the lagoon.

My family has a brick. I couldn't remember where it was last time I went but I went to the information booth near there and they were able to give me the location on a map.

We bought ours long time ago. It's on the walkway going to The Contemporary Hotel. I think it was 1994 or 1995. Only Bob, Brian, & I were on that trip & we got flack from the older two because we didn't include their names on the brick. Bob always wished we could have added them.

Do the bricks wear out in high traffic areas? Do they fix them? Just curious when my wife and I are there it seems some really take a huge beating.

My grandma says she and grandpa bought a brick many years ago, but she cannot recall exactly when. She does not have any of the original paperwork associated with it. I spend time each trip looking, but it seems to be a needle in a haystack kind of thing. I hope someday we'll find it!

Our daughter had her wedding at the Wedding Pavilion in May 2001 and the bricks were sold out so she bought one at DL , right in the center between both parks. We have visited it many times but she has only seen it in the pictures that we have brought back. We also have a legacy in Epcot . I heard a long time ago that they were supposed to take them all down - does anyone know anything about that ?:confused3

Ask at Guest Services. As long as you know the name of the people who bought it, they should be able to look it up for you.

I don't know what the deal was with the Legacy pics. For the bricks, the contract guaranteed they would remain for 10 years. After that, Disney had the right to remove them or not replace them if they got damaged. Ours is now 17 years old so I know one of these days we may visit and find it gone.

No, but I'd like to own a brick! Now you've got my gears turning...

We tried and tried and tried to get one when we got married at the wedding pavilion in 2008. No luck. We were in contact with the guy in charge of the bricks who said we should be able to buy one thru our wedding planner. She had no idea what he was talking about but was shocked that we had actually found and spoken to the brick guy (guess we had the right person) but in the end each said the other was the one that had to get us the brick. :confused3 he did confirm (as most have seen ) that there are still a good number of open bricks, especially by the wedding pavilion.

Yes, the bricks were only 'guaranteed' for 10 years, so DH and I feel very fortunate that ours is so close to a tree that it shows very little wear after all these years. :goodvibes

I bought 1 in 1998 for my DH when he finished Vet. school. it is over by TTC.
The funny thing is when I got the certificate, instead of saying DVM at the end of his name, it said DUM!!:scared1:
I called right away to have it corrected:yay:

Someone asked on another board about the bricks at MK and plaques at Epcot. It made me wonder if any of the regulars here have a brick of their own.

We do. Ours is located right outside the turnstiles as you approach the first ramp to the monorail. We bought it in 1994.

I wish they would do something like this again. Our brick is now 17 years old and who knows how much longer it will last. Also, we got it before our daughter was born so it would be nice to get something will all of our names on it.

Our bricks must be very close to each other! We also got ours in 1994, and is located next to one of the small trees by that same monorail ramp.

(Now I have to figure out how to get that little piece of black gum off of it!)

I own a brick...got it in 1994...it's right outside Guest services at MK near the little tree. It's fun to see it everytime I go. As others have said, the agreement was for 10 years and it is now 17 years old so I can't complain.

Leave a legacy was also 10 years I believe. I was there the other day and somebody pointed out to me that the N'Sync members were the first ones to get the leave a legacy...I saw their tiles... not sure if any other "famous" peoplehave them.

I have gotten down on the ground with my pocket knife more than once to clean off our brick. ;)
