Anyone heard of a time share program called Vacation Villages?

My DB and his girlfriend are on vacation in Orlando and attended this timeshare program. If you listen to the spiel they send you on a cruise. My mom didn't have any other information other than DB is really interested in buying into this. She didn't even know the name of the cruiseline. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? I wouldn't want DB to get taken.

PLEASE PLEASE tell your DB he can always purchase and doesn't have to do on the spot AND ESPECIALLY NOT through the developer, resale, resale, resale.
PLEASE pay the registration fee of about $20 (not sure, don't remember the price but it is not more than that) and join tug2.net
There is a wealth of information on that site (it is forums for timeshares, just like the dis if for Disney).
I own three timeshares (DVC (saved $10K purchasing resale), Orange Lake Country Club in Orlando and HHI-paid $6K for a 3 bedroom at Waterside by Spinnaker for fixed week the first week in August) and use this site constantly.
Again, he will pay AT LEAST half if he purchases resale.
Maybe you can go online and google the t/s and see what resale is selling for.
Is he purchasing points, a fixed week or floating week?

ps, the "free" cruises are never free. Ask him to find out if he is paying port charges and taxes. What cruiseline and what ship.
If you are very interested in purchasing a t/s, a "free" cruise shouldn't be the deciding factor.
Please let us know what your DB ends up deciding.

i completely agree with the PP. Your brother should not buy at the developer's spiel. If he is interested in the timeshare concept, he should definitely, absolutely, for sure join TUG. There are plenty of inexpensive/free ways to get into timesharing, especially in Orlando.
