Anyone hear about Sami Sosa?

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but.....Sami Sosa (of the Chicago Cubs) broke his baseball bat in a game yesterday and they found out it had cork in it, which apparently is very illegal. He got thrown out and its a top news story around here. To me, for as much as I like baseball, being a White Sox fan (the other Chicago team) this is SOOO funny! All of these people are on the news saying "Oh, Sami would never cheat" and "It must have been a mistake".....Bull!! He cheats! He just finally got caught.

I guess they are going to cut his hall of fame bats in half to check them out too. It's a shame really.

Apparently this is big news everywhere! Our local news played a clip of him saying something about the reason he had the bat was "for the fans." I missed part of it as the bus came just then. When GMA came on, they said it was a single bat he'd grabbed by mistake. I hate when they can't get a story straight!

Whatever the case, it's such a shame when a children's role model/hero screws up! Yeah - it can be turned into a lesson, but it's still a shame when feet of clay are revealed. JMHO

Obviously, here, the news broke last night.

The have confiscated all his bats at Wrigley Field for inspection.

They have also said they are going to inspect the hall of fame ones.

His comments and the comments of a person from the Cubs organization sounded very much like excuses and denial to me.

I don't get why he would have broken his bat. It seems to me that if I were cheating with a bat, that I would make sure it didn't get broken or any undue attention paid to it.

KimRaye, Kejoda and I had a looong discussion about this topic last night...

I think that the equipment manager is going to get hit hard for this.. and I think that the Cubs will pay him big $$$$$$ to take one for the team/Sam..... somebody is gonna have to bite the bullet and take the shame.. and I sure as hec bet that the Cubs front office won't let it be Sam, the star, be the one to take the blame.......
