Anyone having trouble with WDW GC from Kroger?

I have been to two Kroger stores and could not buy the WDW Princess GC which are loadable up to $1500. These are pink and have a picture of the princesses on them. Right after the 4X Fuel Points promo started, I bought one and loaded $150 on it. Called Disney, applied it to my room reservation - no problem. Last Thursday, March 28th, I tried to buy/load one and the cashier told me it was giving her the message that it couldn't be sold and was recalled. On Saturday, March 31st, they still had them on display, I tried to buy/load and received the same message. The other cashier told her that she did get a notice that they were recalled. I asked why would a gift card be recalled and she said she didn't know. I went to another Kroger which was in a different town and the same thing happened there. I could buy the 3 pack of $15, $25 or $50 - just not the loadable one. I thought it was strange that I had bought it before with no problems and now it is recalled.
Has anyone had the same problem or has it happened before to anyone with other GC?

I had the same problem yesterday with the pink princess reloadable card. I then tried the reloadable up to $500 card (Disney fairies) and it worked. Not sure what is the deal with the disney card being recalled.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what would happen to have a recall. I haven't seen any GC with the fairies - I'll be on the lookout for those.
I have bought our Kroger out of the $25 and $50 GC - they didn't have too many to begin with.

We bought a bunch of Disney gift cards at Kroger 2 weeks ago. We had some that were reloadable (pink) and some that were $25 each. We used them all over Disney World last week and did not have any problems.

I am not sure about the recall, but a co-worker mentioned that she was unable to buy the pink ones this week as well.

As a heads-up, I used a gift card to upgrade a ticket. I lost my ticket in the park and went to print off a new one. Since I had used all the $ on my gift card, I had thrown it away. They needed it to "find" my ticket purchase. Thankfully I had saved the room key ticket (from free dining and we had APs) and I was able to obtain one. Next time, I will be sure to save the gift card or not lose my ticket

I'll see if our Kroger might have the Mickey in stock in place of the princesses. I'm afraid they won't restock before the 4X fuel points promo ends.

I bought one at Target a few months back. I asked if they had any for more than the $25 amount, so she scanned it. After it came up she said that the Princess cards they carried were being discontinued. Maybe all of them are, and they are adding a new princess to them?

I hope the one I bought works!

I had the same problem Tuesday night. They had no idea why the Princess card has been recalled. They did have $50 cards but I really don't want to buy 10 of them.

I don't think I have seen reloadable ones at our Kroger....I bought the 3 pack for $45.

I noticed that the amount on some new "load the amount you want" cards was limited to $500.

The princess cards were loadable up to $1000, I think.

It was definitely a pretty high number.

I would guess they were recalled to limit the amount that can be place on one card ... which I am sure has to do with people stealing cc #s and then purchasing other gift cards to sell.

My Kroger only had the 3 pack of $15 cards, a tip ~ email your card # and PIN, that way if you lose or toss your card and need that info you have it.

OMG yes I had a problem a few weeks ago. I went to check out and gave the gift card to her and asked her to load $100. It beeped but then she said ok go ahead and pay I swiped my credit card and she said "sorry your credit card was declined and it's locked up my system", I was so embarassed but knew there was no reason my card would be declined so I called Chase while standing in line waiting for the manager to unlock here system, but before I could reach someone the manager came over to unlock it and the cashier was like okay well it looks like it did go through after all. I just knew something was wrong so I went out to my car and called to check the balance on the card and of course it said "invalid card number". Long story short I went back in and the service desk said I wouldn't be able to get a princess card and loaded me up a fairies one instead.
