Anyone having trouble getting Disney Dollars?

I went to the Disney Store yesterday to buy Disney Dollars for our trip. I was told that they don't have any in stock because Disney is revamping them for the 50th celebration. No one could tell me when a new shipment was expected. Has anyone else had trouble getting Disney Dollars?

We have been out for a couple of weeks but have been told that new Disney Dollars should start hitting the stores near the end of April. I think they will go quickly since so many of our guests are waiting for them to arrive.

I've never had trouble getting DD at my nearest Disney Store until last week. She didn't seem to know when they might have the back in. I was really surprised!..............P

I called 3 Disney Stores today, one is completely out and they don't know when they will get more.
The 2nd has 5.00's only and said they have about 100 of them
and the 3rd has 1.00's only and said to come today or tomorrow if we wanted them. I hope they get some soon! I'd love to have some stashed to give my kids when we get there!

The biggest perk for me is that if I have cash I spend it, If I have Disney Dollars I will save them. I now have about $400. Yes I could put it in the bank and I do put money in the bank, but I like having Disney Dollars.

BTW, this past weekend the manager in my Disney Store told me that the news one will be out in mid April to celebrate DL.

Could anyone tell me if Disney Dollars ever expire? I am thinking I'd like to keep trading in our "change jar" and "saved-up" money for Disney Dollars but we are not going to WDW until 2006 so I'd like to be sure they will still be valid ~ this is our first trip down to WDW so I'm very new to all of this ~ TIA for any help!

I got $20 at my local Disney Store on Sunday. All they had left was $5 bills. They had a TON of them though.

Disney Dollars do not expire. We have been saving them for over a year now.

I was able to get $90 worth at our Disney Store. When I asked if they were the new ones she told me no and that they were running low because of it. I almost wiped them out of ones. She said they wouldn't be getting anymore until the new ones come out.

Now, I have a question....After we got in the car and I was looking at the DDs I notice that they all say DisneyLAND. This doesn't matter does it? They can be used at both, right? I'm not too worried, because I'm almost positive that you can, but thought I'd ask just in case. TIA!!

Does anyone know how you might be able to acquire Disney Dollars online. I live in Alaska and we do not have a Disney Store anywhere in the state..or at least not within driving distance of me...so if you have any tips I would greatly appreciate it.

I literally just purchased Disney Dollars 3 hours ago!!! We have no Disney Stores located near us either. So here's what I had to do. Called Walt Disney World Ticketing Services because I was originally told I could order them by phone there - CM told me no that I'd need to send my request and either check or credit card info to:

Indicate how much you want & in what denominations then add a $3 shipping and handling fee. Operator told me ship time is two - three weeks.
