Anyone have WIND Mobile?

I hate it, but that's besides the point. I am on wind, and going to DIS in July. I have tried talking to someone at the store about my options (if any) and they were pretty useless. If you have Wind have you used your phone at DIS?
Is there any kind of US package I can get that reduces rates etc...
There is a mobile app for the BB that I would LOVE to use but don't think i'll be able to.

Data while in the US is $1 per MB -- could get really expensive really fast if you are not careful.

Sorry to get off topic,but I"ve been looking at Wind. I'm with Koodo right now. What is it that you hate about Wind?

What I dislike about WIND is the coverage really and the fact that at least in my area, it is not consistent. The coverage is increasing, but somethings I'll be in the same spot where my phone said "wind home" yesterday and today it says away or it will say home, i'll start typing something send it and after itis sent it says away. minor inconveniences and annoyances really, it is still cheaper than the plan I had with Rodgers.

If I leave my phone on as it is, it will "always" be searching for a signal and downloading emails etc.. as they come in and this uses roaming correct?

In that case I will want to turn my roaming off, The antenna I think. But then still do I then need to turn it on if I need to send a txt or something?

If I have the lines app for blackberry, I use data when using it, but anyone know how much data?

Basically -- yes to all.
if its always one, and always searching -- you will be using data.
If you send a text, you will be paying roaming for the text (sometimes receiving them as well).

If your BB also works with wifi, shut off your wireless until you can check email at your hotel on the wifi. A lot cheaper that way.
I'm with Rogers, and bought a U.S. package when we went in February. I used it sparingly, using the wifi signals at various locations we were at. Worked out to be a lot cheaper.

I'm taking my BB with us & the Telus roaming & texting charges are expensive even with their packages for the US. I'm just going to turn off the Telus network & use the Wifi. I don't need to call anymore and if I do, I'll buy a calling card.

Wind will roam on the T-Mobile network. I don't know what the quality of their network is in WDW but I know that in Vegas, it was slow and painful to use!

I'm with bell and get billed $1 / MB

I am bringing it just for emergencies only, otherwise it will be in airplane mode and I will just be using my iPhone as a camera

I have been with Wind since the beginning. It is way better now for coverage. .

They have a 5$ package you can add for the month.
Preferred U.S. Roaming Rates
Preferred rates are 10¢/min, 5¢/text and 50¢/MB

I have been to all over the US. * t mobile you will be on * Cuba, Dominican and Mexico and had no problems with my BB, Most of the time, I just shut off my roaming and found free wifi or hot spots.

Have you pulled your battery lately? Or it could be your sim card dying, if its going in out alot.

I did find with the older BB's it did drop it signal alot. Now have the 9900 and love it.
