Anyone have trouble using CS?

We got back last week from using the DDP for the first time. It was just hubby and me, and we were able to use all our credits--including a late night "snack" of CS at the food court just to use up the last two CS (and three snacks of rice crispie treats for the trip home).

We are returning in a few weeks with mom, grandma, and dad, and trying to decide if we should use DDP or DDE. We typically eat at more TS restaurants and I fear that we'll be paying for food and have a hard time using the CS. The snacks won't be a problem on this trip as it's during the F&W festival. Advise?

I don't know if I'd want to do two TS meals in the same day. It's a lot of food, for starters (especially if you're supplementing your intake with "snacks" at the F&W festival!), but also it takes a good amount of time out of the day during which we could be enjoy the parks, the pools, the resort overall. Having said that, if we were traveling just as a couple, instead of with guests as we are on our next trip, we'd probably eat most of our TS meals at signature restaurants, so the Dining Plan wouldn't be a good match for us under those circumstances.

Yes, we don't typically eat at TS for EVERY meal, but, for example, we enjoy Beaches and Cream and Nine Dragons. I don't want to use TS credits for those two places for lunch, but if we decide to dine there, that leaves CS credits remaining for at least two days as we'd most likely dine at TS for dinner that evening as well. The only parks that we typically eat CS are MK and AK. In my opinion, MGM doesn't have a great CS selection (and we prefer to take the boat back "home to BCV and have Beaches and Cream!). We LUV all the CS selections at DD, but I don't see us trekking over there just for a meal at lunchtime. I guess I should use the DDE to figure the savings for some of our meals to see if we will still do "okay" costwise and just avoid the DDP this trip.

A lunch option for CS at EP could be either Sunshine Seasons or Kringla (even Yakitori, if you like Japanese food). Many folks rave about Tangierine, too. :thumbsup2 Other than getting the bagel platter at Starring Rolls, we don't find many CS places in MGM that we'd recommend. :)

You can get two pastries and a beverage for a CS at most of the bakeries. This could be "a snack" to use your CS up, there by freeing up more SC to use at F&WF.

Does that make sense?

Each day we had at least 2 snack credits left, so we used them in the morning to get a coffe cake and a cinnamon bun at the bakery for breakfast. We stayed at BCV so the marketplace was a short walk away. We also purchased a gallon of mike too to keep in the frig to go with it. YUM a warm cinnamon bun and a cold glass of milk. Worked out well. The DDP does give you a lot of food, but for us it open our options (A) to eat at a resturant that we normally would not of eaten at due to cost and (B) allowed us to explore more on the menus with the app. , entree, and desserts for each of us. I LOVED the DDP! (So did my waist line!) :rotfl2: That's why me and DD princess: (6 months) did some power walking around crescent lake at 6am on a few mornings!

We had CS credits left over and on the last day went to the bakery on Main Street and they told us we could get three items for each counter service we had left. We got a bunch of brownies and muffins and brought them home! We left on Tuesday and I'm still eating brownies from the MK Bakery!!

Additionally, we used maybe a total of 4 snack credits! Our last night we went to Everything POP and bought 16 bags of Goofy's Candy to bring home.
