Okay I remember WAY back someone posted about this stroller but for some reason I can't utilize the "search" the past few days.

So does anyone have this stroller - please review for me? It looks like the best one out there for everything I need. LOVE the basket and the little bag too. Plus it folds up umbrella style, reclines, has good looking wheels (i hate cheap umbrella stroller wheels!) and has adjustable handles. I am ready to buy it but want to be sure this is the right one for my almost 3yr old dd going to disney. Problem is, it is NOT in any store near me so I can't check it out in person. The cheapest I found it was for $49.99 plus $12 shipping.

Any input welcome, cheapest place to buy and any other ideas for an alternative would be great too. I am leaving in Sept so I still have some time. Also - if anyone has gotten cup holders for it, what kind work??

Thanks!!

Suzanne 74,

I am looking for something similar. I believe they had that one at Burlington Coat Factory (Baby depot).

I have also considered the Chico Caddy Stroller (Target and Burlington). It comes with a rain cover and carry bag. I have twins who are 3 1/2. The boy twin is not far from 35 lbs. That has been the problem. Many of these strollers have a weight limit around 30-35 pounds. My kids are average height also and I have had them sit in the Chico one and it looks almost too little.

Now Walmart has one called Cosco Deluxe Comfort Ride umbrella stroller. Model # 01834THE It is good for up to 40 pounds, has a basket, drink holder and it is only $19.72!

You can check Walmart online. I don't mind paying for a good stroller but at that price I could use it just at Disney and still be better off than renting.

I have debating this for a couple of weeks! :p The only good things I could get out of renting from Disney would be not having to haul the stroller from home and my older twins (8yo) could sit and ride for a little while in the Disney ones.

I would highly recommend trying them out first. My mind changed each time I did.

Hope this helps.

I have the Scwinn stroller but a double one. I just got it because I got tired last year of renting one. My girls don't normally use a stroller (they're 5 and 6) but they sure use one at WDW. I think it's great. It's got a lot of storage for an umbrella stroller, folds up easily, and is easy to push. The double one ws $99.00 online at Babyage. They probably carry the single one too. I forget exactly what the shipping was but I think it was only about $5.00

I am in the same boat as you - I can't make a decision. I have seen every stroller known to mankind!! I looked at the cosco one at walmart but I want one that folds up umbrella style to take on the disney buses and travel w/ easier. If you aren't flying or don't make the non umbrella aspect, I agree $20 bucks - you can throw it away at Disney- hehe!

I have seen Chicco Caddy too but no basket and it doesn't seem to fit bigger kids. Although I love the travel bag. I have heard that if you get one w/out a bag - you can use a small golf bag or even the bag that holds those nylon chairs to store the stroller for the flight. That is what I am going to use.
The more I think about it, I am going to just go ahead and order the schwinn. I can always return it to Baby Depot up the street if I don't like it.

FYI: the Schwinn holds up to 40-50lbs for the single stroller. I am sure it is double for the double stroller.

thanks

I have this stroller, but the double one. It is great! I bought if for our Disney trip last year for my two boys, 2 & 6 at the time. It was great - folded up small like an umbrella stroller, reclines so they can sleep if they want to, great storage baskets below each seat as well as a hanging basket in the back of each seat, the handles can be moved in or out depending on the height of the parent pushing the stroller. It was a wonderful buy for the price, I think I bought mine for $89 off of the JC Penney website. I think you will love this stoller!

I have to agree that you will enjoy it. My three year old doesn't use a stroller anymore but we are going to WDW for two weeks and it is cheaper to buy one than rent for such a long period of time. He is 43" tall (yes he is only three...lol) and weighs 41 lbs so I needed a sturdy one! I was worried at first because the weight limit says 40 lbs. but we have tested it out at the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park which has some rough terrain and it is great! I am 5' 7" and really enjoy the adjustable handles so I don't have to bend over to puch it. The recliner mode is very handy also.
The basket is not very big, but will hold a few items.
It is definitely worth the value....

I looked at that one also but double. after much debate I went to BRU and bought the Jeep double umbrella stroller for our trip next week. I noticed some good prices online for burlington and walmart.com had a costco one also. good luck deciding

Tiffanie,

You about sold me on the Schwinn! Especially if your 6 year old sat in it! That is my worry....the weight.

I wonder if JC Pennys still has it fo $89???

I will start checking!

Oh yea, after I recommended the Walmart one, Cosco, I did some online searches on reviews and they were not very good. I think you would get $20 out of it but that might be about it.
I need to try one out.

hey - I do have a question though...

does the canopy come off completely or does it roll back and hang in the back?

The canopy rolls over and hangs in the back, you cannot take it completely off. It provides great shade, though. We still use this stroller and my oldest will be 7 in three months. It is getting harder to steer, but still holds his weight.

One more thing - there are no cup holders in the stroller, but there is a mesh basket in the back of the seat that hangs. We put sippy cups in there, or a drink with a lid, no problems with them leaking or anything. Also put our guide maps from the parks in there for easy access.

I know about the cupholders. I will probably look into getting one that attaches for DH and I to share a drink or like you said, put it in the bag. I have spillproof for DD so the bag will be perfect for that.

Another quick question since you are so helpful :D

did you fly? If so - did you find a bag that fit? I have heard golf travel bags are good but I am not too sure.

We did not fly for this trip, we drove from New Orleans, but have flown in the past with a stroller. We strolled the boys right up to the gate, gave the stroller to the flight attendant, they stored it for us, then when we got off of the plane it was waiting for us so that we could use it in the airport. Not sure about a bag for the stroller, but I don't think you really need it.

Hope that helps.

I also have the Schwin stroller, but I got the double since I have twins. I did look at several stores first to "test drive" it but unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere, not even at Baby Depot. The thing I really like about this stroller is the adjustable handles since I am tall.

I bought it here and paid $89.99 + $12.95 s/h. Good Luck!
