Thank you so much! My mom wanted to know if we should bring cheese on board to have as snacks before dinner. I told her that DCL had a plate from room service, and she was afraid it would not be a very nice variety. She is on her first Disney Cruise, we're gold, and I knew better!

The plates look awesome, I could do with one right now!

I'll also point out that you can ask your servers at dinner to provide a cheese plate (either at the beginning or end of your meal). Then you can take that back to your room, if you want.

I may or may not have purchased specialty cheeses in ports to supplement the AHOD plate -- gjetost, Derbyshire, Cotswold, etc.

i like cheese as much as the next guy, unless the next guy is Steve Urkel, but THAT is what all the fuss is about with the cheese platter?!?!?!?
I mean, its perfectly nice and all but 5 crackers and a few bites of cheese........?
That's not to say I won't order it, but, then again, I wouldn't miss NOT ordering it.

It's not so much about what's on the plate. For me it's about sitting on the verandah in the late afternoon, nibbling on the cheese and crackers, while watching the world float by. It is a very relaxing time, post-excursion, pre-dinner that just sort of gets me in a mellow mood while the rest of my family is showering and prepping for dinner. Yeah, there isn't much to the cheese plate, but I enjoy the experience of it completely.

It's a nice snack, it's fun to have it delivered to your room to enjoy with your wine on the verandah as the world sails by, and.....it's free

I started requesting the plate without blue cheese. Makes it so much better!

It was room service, but we were in concierge, when we requested it, that's what we got, it's a chutney with it, very nice. You do get gifts like it as well.

I read that the included room service fruit/cheese plates have been discontinued and replaced with chargeable ones. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Not true. There was a "printing error" a few months ago with the new room service menu that didn't have the All Aboard (included) cheese plate on it. And a cheese platter available via In-Room Gifts (at a hefty cost). After the outcry, DCL said it was a printing error and the All Aboard plate is still available.
