Anyone have recent experience with Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour?

The most current information I could find was from a thread started back in January of this year and seems as though the tour may have been in the process of changes.

Also, looking at the schedule for the end of June first week of July, looks like the tour is only available at 1:30pm. Doesn't look like a 9:30am tour is offered during that time frame.

Just curious what attractions we may experience and if Walt's apartment is included.

We haven't been to Disneyland since 2008 and I thought this tour might be a nice surprise for the rest of the family.

I haven't been yet but called last week to ask what the latest info was. The CM I spoke with said they alternate between Dream Suite and Walt's Apt - it is back on the tour, but there is no way to know ahead of time. The tour guides are told that morning which one will be on the tour that day based on what else is going on with each location. And there is a no cancellation policy - so you will get one or the other - but no way to plan ahead to guarantee which one.

I would of course also love to hear from people who have done this recently to know if this is true.

Thanks for the quick reply. While I would prefer Walt's apartment, I wouldn't be disappointed to see the Dream Suite.

I am having the same issue. Information online is very confusing and I am trying to decide if I should book the tour.

Are there openings for the tours day of? You could always take a chance and go ask that day which one they're showing.

We did this tour a few years ago & saw the apartment. I'd do it again if I could see the Dream Suite.

I've called several times in the last few weeks asking questions about the tours. Jkpark's information is the exact information I was given when asking about Dream Suite vs apartment. When I asked about rides included with the tour, no CM I spoke with would give specifics ... just kept saying favorites (I wasn't at all pushy though - just spoke to three different people so kept asking to see if I would get a different answer). I was also told that the tour included lunch at Jolly Holiday. This tour books quickly so I wouldn't wait for the day of. Decide ahead of time and reserve. I would go for it - it's going to be fun and interesting no matter what! We ended up reserving the Magic of Disney tour which is more of a treasure hunt through the park because I wasn't positive my 7 year old would stick with the Walt tour the whole time and they didn't have the morning time slot available the day we wanted to go. If you have kids in your party you may want to consider that one too? :)

We are doing Walk in Walt's on Sunday. I'll post anything interesting. In all my years and trips to DL, I've never once done a tour but DD13 is a Disney history nut and she's so excited about this. We have tried to book it before (7-10 days out) and it was always sold out. This time, we planned ahead and I booked right at 30 days.

The did tell me that although the tour starts at 9:30am, we have to check in by 9am to order our lunch. I've seen the cast members setting the lunch up at Jolly Holiday in the past.

AP and DVC members get a 20% discount off the tour.

Ooh, I'd be interested too! We're going in September and up in the air about taking the tour. I'd be happy to see either location, though the apartment would be ideal.

So here is the deal with the Apartment. It is NOT currently ADA compliant since the redo of the backstage walkway on that side of Main Street so if there is anyone on the tour that has any ounce of mobility issues...guess what, you will get the the alternate that day will be the Dream Suite. They of course can not come out and say this or guarantee one or the other which is why they say they may "alternate" but if you have a fully able group that can climb a few flights of steps on your tour, that is the only way you will have a chance to get to the apartment. It was completely off limits at the beginning of the year to general public but sounds like they may have come up with a way to relax those rules.

Honestly that is what I was figuring and it makes sense.
But didn't want to say such because last time I had the nerve to do so, someone decided to name call. Nice....

Just call me cruel.lol

What ride are they doing now for Walk In Walt's Footsteps? We did it last year and was able to walk onto Peter Pan and we sat in the Tiki Room. Since Peter Pan is still closed right now, what ride are they substituting?
